After my arsenal report it is now the turn of Aston Villa
How their recruitment went - villa weren't overly busy in the summer transfer window but they brought a few players in. Tom cleverly arrived on loan on deadline day and after a hot start he has quieted down and been a bit disappointing since. After a good world cup for Colombia midfielder Carlos Sanchez was bought in but has largely disappointing. Aly cissocko was brought in at left back and has done a good job so far. Whereas Phillipe senderos has been injured too much to tell yet. The best business they did though was keep there star play such as delph, vlaar and benteke.
How their results have gone - so far about what you would expect even though they have had good results against top teams such as Liverpool and Manchester utd they have largely struggled and are the lowest scorers in the division at the moment.
How the manager is doing - it seems Paul Lambert is doing the best with what he has got and until he gets a higher calibre of player the team will languish in the bottom half of the table and no other manager could change that.
Star player so far - Christian benteke, now that he is back from injury it is key that villa keep the big Belgian striker fit and firing because without him they will struggle for goals.
What they need to improve - they need to get more goals simply put. They either need to commit more body's forward or they need to sign a new striker or creative midfielder.
Finishing position - 13th
