Now it is time for chelsea's mid season review and I will admit that I am a Chelsea fan so this may be a little bias.
How their recruitment went - they filled all the gaps that was necessary and probably did the best transfer business in the summer. The deal to bring cesc fabregas to the club has proven to be a masterstroke by the club as he tops the assists chart and has been one of the best players of the season. Also Chelsea needed firepower in the summer so they signed the best striker in Europe in Diego Costa. He has scored the majority of Chelsea goals even against fitness concerns he has been a great signing. Even though they haven't had allot of game time loic Remy, Didier drogba and filipe Luis have done okay when given the opportunity.
How results have gone - almost flawless, Chelsea have easily been the most dominant team in the premier league and apart from a defeat to Newcastle they have been the most consistent team and are the top of the table. They are also in the semi finals of the capitol one cup and in the last 16 of the champions league.
How the manager has done - mourinho has been excellent with his transfer business to tactical selection he has done everything right. His mind games have started and he is usually victorious when he is top at Christmas.
Star player so far - there is many options for this but I have gone with the January signing nemanja matic as the star player. He shuts down the opposition and keeps the team ticking and allows the rest of the more skillful players to strut their stuff.
How they can improve - to be honest there isn't really allot perhaps they need to be a bit more clinical in front of goal and also maybe a centre back for cover could be an idea but it's not that important.
Final positioning - 1st
