Arrow season 3 episode 18 public enemy review

I have now had time to see arrow episode 18 and I think it is about time that I spoke about it. Be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episode.

The premise of the episode sees captain lance vigorously hunting down team arrow. Until ras ah ghul reveals to lance who the arrow really is.

Stephen amell has been in the public eye for his casting in the new teenage mutant ninja turtles and he is great in this episode. I have always been impressed by his ability to really play two versions of Oliver queen and this episode showed that. You felt like he had no choice then to do the things that he did in this episode and you really felt sorry for him as he was really backed into a corner.

Now for 3 seasons now I have found captain lance to be maybe the most I interesting character on the show and this episode really proved that. You can just see how broken he is and how determined he is to take down the arrow to make up for what he believes is failure on his part. Roy was really important in this episode as you see how much he has developed over the last few seasons and obviously with him being arrested at the end of the episode it seems they are taking a different route with the character. It has also been reported that Roy could be leaving the show but I don't believe that and I think he will be back soon. The Ray, felicity part of the episode was fine with their chemistry being really good but I am just a little bit fed up of this love triangle that isn't as entertaining as the laurel, Oliver and Tommy triangle in season 1. It's great that we are finally seeing ras ah ghul in action and you can clearly see the cogs working to get Oliver to accept his offer and his master plan to be complete.

We have seen Oliver clash with authority in all the seasons but never to this extent, it was pretty intense seeing how far lance was willing to go to capture the arrow. Also as I mentioned before now that the whole city knows that Oliver queen is the arrow it is going to make the league plot much more interesting to the point where he will probably have to become ras ah Ghul. Again I like the characters of Ray and felicity but there part of the episode felt a little choppy and out of sync with the whole thing.

The script was as good as usual with more dramatic dialogue in this episode then all season, you really felt the intensity of it all by the dialogue and just how aggressive it all was. Mixed with the humour in the felicity Ray scenes it meshed well.

The action scenes were great and The overall way the episode was done made it really intense and made the episode the great episode that it was.

Overall this is a great episode and I feel like this is going to be a great end to arrows third season.
