Daredevil episodes 4 and 5 review

So I have had time to watch a couple more episodes of daredevil so I wanted to talk about it. Be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episodes yet.

The premise of these episodes sees the ascension of Wilson fisk as he tries to take control of organized crime In Hells kitchen. Meanwhile Matt and Claire's relationship seems to becoming more real.

Charlie Cox is great as the character and I think he has great chemistry with Rosario Dawson and I find those scenes really enjoyable. Also pretty obvious but when he suits up he is great also. My only problem at the moment is the show is really focusing on the Matt Murdoch character that much and I really hope that starts to take place over the next few episodes.

Vincent donofriod is a great method actor and it is obvious to see that he did his research for the character of Wilson fisk. He looks like the character he acts like the character and he straight up is the character. The showrunners said that the first season of the show would focus as much on fisk as it would Daredevil. I think that is a great idea because we have to know more about this villain to truly buy into the hatred that happens between the two eventually. Rosario Dawson has a bigger role in these two episodes as Claire temple and I really like her in the role, you can clearly see the chemistry between her and Cox which makes me hope they find a way to make them stay together. Karen page and foggy nelson both have their individual stories where they grow as people and their relationship grows and I think it was clear in this episode that they are going to become really close in this season of the show. I just hope they create a bit of conflict to keep the pair interesting similar to what arrow did with laurel and Tommy in season one of that show. The Russian bad guys are quite cliche in characters but they are fine and they don't really ever cross over to being cartoons so it is fine.

The story seems to be focusing on fisk and the criminal element of hells Kitchen. This is a good idea because as I said before you need to know a villain to care about the heroes struggles and you want to see him overcome it. Fisks motivations are actually quite typical of comic book shows but it works and in the setting of hells kitchen it is believable. I know all these subplots are going to intertwine and come together and that is what interests me about the page and nelson arcs.

The script is good, there isn't anything special but it doesn't need to be. On the show there are quite a few long scenes so what the show does is fill it with allot of interesting dialogue to keep these characters interesting and make you care about them.

The style got pushed up a notch in these episodes with fisk decapitating The Russian leader and seeing his headless body just proves that this is completely different to the Avengers world. Obviously it is in the same universe but this is a completely new environment.

Overall this show has started with a bang and if it hits a few things that it has to it can go down as legendary.
