The Lego movie (2014) review

For my birthday I decided that my family would watch one of my favourite films from last year the Lego movie and I still really enjoy this film.

The premise of the film sees an average construction worker end up having to fulfill some prophecy and attempt to stop the evil Lord business from stopping creative building.

Chris Pratt had a great 2014 and he delivered his voice to emmett who was an interesting character tthat you felt sympathy for and really wanted to believe in and care for.

normally when it comes to voice acting I don't care about the star but the huge names in this film really worked. Will Ferrell was a great choice for Lord business and he really played up the evil but fun villain in a family film like this. Morgan Freeman plays the mentor and he is great and funny in the role which gives the film real importance. Liam neeson was great as bad cop and he was funnier then I ever expected he would ever be in a role like this. people know how much I love the character of Batman and when he turns up in this film the film improves so much and becomes hilarious to watch. There are also some awesome cameos which I won't spoil but they really helped make this film great.

There are a few to many worlds that are shown in this universe and makes this film feel like bit long at times and the story is a little generic. But once the last 30 mins of the film start it becomes one of the most emotional films you will see in recent memories.

The script is really funny and the humour really makes all the characters interesting and funny. But as I said before the drama really picks up and makes this film more then just a good film.

The style of the film is what has everybody talking about because it is some of the best cgi in a film ever as they nailed the Lego universe and how everything and I mean everything is made of Lego and it was perfect.

Overall I love this film and it is a fantastic family film to see.
