The Flash episode 16 rouge time review

The new episode of the flash is out today and I have seen it so it is about time I gave my opinion of it, be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episode yet.

The premise of this episode sees the flash try to realign the timeline after traveling back in time. While in this timeline captain cold and heatwave return to central city joined by colds sister golden glider.

Grant Gustin was great in the episode and it finally seems like the show is going to go all the way with the time travelling aspect of his character and it seems like the conflict between him and Harrison wells will start to brew with Barry finding out that wells killed his mother.

Harrison wells was great in the episode as you truly see that he is the defender of the time line and he is truly scared of Barry changing what is his timeline. The return of the rogues was great and I love Wentworth Miller's performance as captain cold being awesome and really memorable. I didn't really enjoy the Cisco part of the episode but the actor still manages to deliver a good performance.

The story that changing time will lead to bad consequences for Barry and I think this will keep going ton the end of the season. With captain cold finding out that Barry is the flash it will allow them to have more interesting interactions for the future. Also the big moment in the episode is that Barry has seemed To have found out that wells was involved in his mother's death, this will obviously be massively important for the rest of the season.

The script was dramatic and had some funny elements to it that made this episode feel completely alive in its interactions.

The're wasn't too much action in the episode but golden gliders new gold effect was really cool and it seems like the rogues could be much more important towards the end of the season.

Overall this was a pretty good episode even though there were aspects of the episode I wasn't a big fan of but overall a fun episode.

Captain America the winter soldier (2014) review

The next film I have rewatched heading to age of Ultron is the captain America sequel winter soldier and this film is everything that I always wanted it to be and is excellent.

The premise of this film sees captain America return in modern day as he teams up with black widow, Nick fury and falcon to take down the mysterious winter soldier and solve a conspiracy.

Now there was some controversy when Chris Evans was cast as captain America because of his previous ties with the fantastic four franchise but I am so happy that he was chosen for this role. He is the perfect Steve Rodgers as he is just such A great character but is also an awesome action star which makes him one of the best characters in film at the moment.

The supporting cast is also fantastic, Scarlett Johansson returns as the black widow and her character is given much more to do in this film and her character is given more morality questions and more backstory for the audience to really care about her character. Samuel L Jackson returns as Nick fury and the same can be said about him with his character being expanded on and once again making him so much more interesting. Anthony Mackie debuts as Sam Wilson the falcon and he is the character that connects with the captain the most because he is an ex army veteran and his chemistry with Evans makes the relationship feel unique. Robert Redford is a high ranking member of shield and he is great in the film and his character is really interesting in the film. The funny thing about the character of the winter soldier is that he is great in the action scene and he fit well in with the story but he Wasn't in the film that much for you to care that much about him.

The story could have been simple with captain America just going after the winter soldier but the directors felt that wasn't enough and made the story more unique and interesting then anybody expected. The story takes a twist that nobody expected and it has had huge implications on the whole marvel cinematic universe.

The script was great with the drama mixing with comedy provided these characters with interesting dialogue that made them feel unique and interesting characters that you care about.

The style was what I dreamed of, this is one of the best spy/action films I ever seen with all the action being crisp and memorable that will make this film the epic film it is.

This film is absolutely epic and will go down as one of the best comic book films of all time.

Agents of shield season 2 episode 11 aftershocks review

Agents of shield has returned in the UK this week and it is about time I spoke about it. Be careful for spoilers if you haven't seen the episode yet.

First for a recap of what I think of agents of shield, well the first season was a mixed bag. The first half of the season was bad and hard to watch but the second half was fantastic and like somebody different took over creative control of the show. I would probably have given it a 7/10. And so far season 2 has been fantastic with all the characters being much more interesting and the new characters being good fun as well.

The premise of the episode saw the team grieve over tripplets death with Skye and rainna trying to adapt to their new powers and Coulson trying to take the fight to hydra.

I think Clark Gregg is a great actor especially in the role of Phil Coulson and this episode showed why because he managed to mix complete drama to humour in this episode and it continued to make him the most diverse member of the team.

The supporting cast did a decent job this week as well, rainna has physically changed and her character has become much more interesting because she is now going to learn how to harness her power and turn her into a proper inhuman. Chloe Bennett is doing a good job in making her character sympathetic because of the situation she has been put in and you wonder just what she will become. Hunter, Bobbie and Mack were great in the episode as there characters seem to be getting mixed up with the secondary story and fitz and Simmons are evolving as characters.

The premise of the episode was okay but it was a bit repetitive with each member of the team going to see skye and it was a bit unnecessary. Also they didn't really explain how they took down hydra so easily in the episode which annoyed me a bit. But I do like how allot of the characters are changing and evolving.

The script was very dramatic this week but what I liked is that it managed to filter in bits of humour that reminded you of the fun of the series.

There wasn't allot of action this week but I like the design of the inhuman characters and I hope maybe one day we see the royal family.

Overall a decent episode with a few problems but also a lot of positives to it.

Wrestlemania 31 review

I have just got through the biggest wrestling event of the year in wrestlemania 31. I must say heading into this event I was not looking forward to it at all and after seeing it I was well justified as this was a pretty average wrestlemania that probably won't be remembered. Be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the show yet.

The show started off with the intercontinental title ladder match between bad news Barrett, Daniel Bryan, dolph Ziggler, stardust, r-truth, Luke Harper and Dean Ambrose. Now as expected this match had allot of high spots in it with not too much substance and actually will be one of the more forgettable ladder match in recent memory. Though I thought he should have been in a higher spot I think Daniel Bryan is a decent choice to carry the belt even though the wwe probably won't care to much about him.

Probably the best match of the night was Randy Orton vs Seth Rollins, this match had the best story going into the show and delivered with a great match that had the right guy win in Orton because you were going to have Rollins get his moment later in the show possibly setting up a rematch for the title. Also the finish was great for the match.

A match that could have really delivered on the show was triple h vs the debuting sting but this match was probably the worst match of the night. The match was going well until it had all the interference from dx and the nwo which took me completely out of the match. And then don't get me started on the fact that triple h beat sting in what could be possibly his only wwe match, the fact is that triple h went for what was best for triple h and not what was best for the wwe and it really hurt this show.

Then came John Cena against rusev for the US title and yes this match was alright but for God sakes what is up with John cena and burying young talent when they are becoming a big deal. Rusev Has been a refreshing blast from the past with his character and the performer is great which is why cena had to totally kill his momentum at his first wrestlemania. Now yes The reputation of the title will be elevated by cena having it but if rusev had won you could with the character of John Cena.

Then there was a promo with the rock, Ronda rousey, Stephanie McMahon and triple h which probably could have been cut out and had the Andre the giant battle royal on the actual wrestlemania card. All this promo was for to promote ufc and possibly set up a couple of future fans.

Then the return of the undertaker as he beat Bray wyatt. Now I don't think they should have had this match but it was pretty enjoyable with a great story playing out and the right guy winning. Also taker was in great condition and hopefully next year we get sting vs taker at mania.

The main event was Brock Lesnar defending the Wwe world heavyweight title against Roman reigns and this match was boring as hell it was just watching Brock Lesnar beating up reigns for 15 mins so thank god for Seth Rollins. I predicted this would happen and I am so happy that they made this decision because if they hadn't I truly believe this would have gone down as a bad mania even though it is only average.

Hugh jackman seems to be finally leaving the Wolverine

Some quite sad news for me this week is that sent a tweet out that he is getting ready to be Wolverine one last time and this is a sad day for sure.

Now for the past 15 years Hugh jackman has been known for his role as the iconic X-Men character wolverine. This is funny because originally jackman was not even meant to play the character in Bryan singers film in 2000. Russel crowe was want wanted for the role and then dougray Scott was cast but had to leave to be in the awful mission impossible 2. So then Crowe recommended his friend Hugh jackman and the rest is history.

Jackman has played the role in 7 X-Men films and whether you like or dislike those films there is no denying that Hugh jackman gives it his all and is the perfect Wolverine. So it seems that jackman will have a cameo appearance in the upcoming X-Men apocalypse film but it will not be anywhere near as big as I thought it would be. So it seems the third wolverine film in 2017 is going to be his last film as Wolverine, now X-Men origins wolverine is a bad film and even though I really liked the wolverine it had its problems. I just really this wolverine film is the best and lives up to the standards that jackman deserves for his last film as this iconic character.

Spectre teaser trailer review

Recently we had the mission impossible 5 trailer and now we have our first look at the new Daniel Craig James bond film spectre.

The trailer shows that this film is going to take place pretty soon after skyfall and it also seems that this is going to be a darker film that looks at bonds past. Now the one thing I always ask for from a teaser trailer is give me a sense of the tone of the film and this trailer nailed that for me with the more in depth look at bonds past and the dark tone seems appropriate for this adventure and after what happened in Skyfall.

What I love about Daniel Craig's role as James bond is that he is a rough James bond but can also do the sophisticated look and there have been arguments whether he is the best bond but there is one argument that nobody could argue with is that he is the most interesting bond ever. That's the one criticism I have always had about bond is that they never go into any detail about his back story so I don't care about him but these Daniel Craig films go into detail on his back story and knowing more about him makes me care about his character.

Now we only get a brief look at him but christophe waltz is the villain of the film leading the group spectre, but it is clear just by the tone of his dialogue that him and bond have a history potentially having grown up together which provides a great dynamic to the story. It is also nice that the living main cast from skyfall are back and again because I know a bit about them I will care more about them.

Now yes this trailer didn't show any action but it didn't need to as we know the action will be great even though I'm not sure it will be as good as mission impossible rogue nation which now thinking about it the two films have a similar narrative at the core. But overall I really enjoyed this trailer and spectre is one of the films I am really looking forward to this year and by the look of the trailer it will deliver.

The Flash set photos reveal some interesting things about both the flash and arrow

Just before I start be careful for spoilers for the future of both arrow and the flash, you have been warned. Now there have been some images that have been revealed in the last few days from what I expect is that flash season 1 finale where the flash attempts to take down the reverse flash.

First of all it is clear that firestorm is returning to the show now I have to admit I have quite liked the character of firestorm so far in the flash and I am happy to see him coming back to the show and I hope he becomes a season regular next season.

Next obviously Harrison wells will reveal himself to Barry Allen this season as he is clearly stood before him without his mask on. Now I feel like this is going to be key for the evolution of the show as it truly evolves their relationship to a bad level kind of similar to that of Oliver queen and Malcolm Merlyn.

But the biggest thing I took out of this image was easily that Oliver queen has a new costume and it is that of the league of assassins meaning before the end of the season he Will accept ras ah ghul's offer to take his place as the leader of the league of assassins. The question is what is going to drive him to become the leader of the league, my suspicion is that somebody close to him is probably going to die and that will cause him to take up the offer so he can stop the other people close to him from dying. Another suggestion I have heard is that this could be a version of Oliver queen from the future and the show is going to change the future so maybe this never happens but I'm not sure about that.

Overall this picture makes me excited for the flash and arrow and I can't wait to see this team up.

First looks of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

It's been the week of images of comic book characters this week and the next one is the first image of Ryan Reynolds as deadpool and it is completely awesome.

Now when X-Men origins wolverine came out one of the biggest disappointments was deadpool as he just wasn't deadpool he was more like the mortal kombat character baraka. But now deadpool is getting a necessary reboot, Ryan Reynolds is back in the role and after seeing the test footage last summer and this image I can say that they have got deadpool completely right.

Now what is great about deadpool is that he is a cocky charismatic assassin that breaks the fourth wall with the audience. Now I always thought Reynolds would be a great deadpool and I really have big hopes for this film, his costume is straight out of the comics and just the pose he is in proves that he is going to be his cocky self.

The look of deadpool is a great start for this film but the script has to be good in this film and I hope there are cool supporting characters and an interesting story that can make this film as good as I want it to be.

Arrow season 3 episode 16 the offer review

The new episode of arrow has come and I think it is really about time I spoke about it. Be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episode yet.

The premise of The episode picks up from the last episode with ras ah ghul offering Oliver queen his position. Team arrow try to take their mind off of it in their different ways especially by taking down a crew of criminals.

With this huge turn in the season I think we are going to see Stephen amell pick up his performances as the arrow is going to have to make some big decisions before the end of the season and even though he ended this episode rejecting the offer I feel like there is going to be a reason for him to contemplate accepting the offer.

Thea has become maybe the second most important character on the show with her story arc and willa Holland is doing a great job in making her character sympathetic and believable. Paul blackthorne as captain lance is a character I have always loved and now after this episode it seems he is going back to being a complex character against team arrow which I am really looking forward too. Katie Cassidy and Katrina laws did a great job in the episode as laurel and nyssa and I think their relationship is going to be important because it will help turn laurel into the true black canary. Felicity was a good wake up call for Oliver in the episode and I find her and rays relationship interesting and how it will go towards the end of the season. Now I have given Matt nables performance as ras ah ghul a bit of stick because I felt like he wasn't on screen enough but these last few episodes he has been killing it and he looks like the villain to truly fear in this episode.

I loved the first ten minutes of the episode, I want to know more about the league and the dynamics inside of it and all the moral stories are great on the show. I do think the plot of stopping murmur was a bit pointless and I felt it was just thrown in there. I want to see more of the league and I think the idea of ras impersonating the arrow to make the city hate him again so he will agree to take his place.

There wasn't allot of of humour in the episode and I thought sometimes it felt a little too dark and could have used a bit of comedy in it.

The action scenes were good even though there weren't that many but I think towards the end of the season we are going to get more great action scenes.

Overall I enjoyed this episode and I think there are some things towards the end of the season The episodes are going to be awesome.

Jeremy Clarkson leaving top gear is a hypocritical decision by the BBC.

Big news yesterday is that the BBC have made a decision on Jeremy clarkson's future on top gear and that they will not be renewing his contract for the show.

After assaulting a BBC producer Clarkson was suspended from the show and now has been terminated, now people will argue that this is the right decision because of what he did and I kind of agree but I think this decision will go back to haunt bbc.

Now what clarkson did was wrong but The fact is that Clarkson has been racist and insulted whole nations before and the BBC turned a blind eye away from it because it didn't affect them but now that something has happened affecting them they now decide to act. It also seems that co presenters James may and Richard Hammond will leave the show and the BBC will try and get a new team to host the show and it may be good but I just don't see it without this crew. another thing to look at is that the three of them are now available to join another tv network like sky or bt and this decision will affect bbc because top gear is arguably there most popular show.

Overall I kind of understand the decision but I think it is the wrong decision by the BBC.

First look at Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor

Big news today is that Warner bros have revealed the first images of Jesse eisenberg as Lex luthor.

Now from the very moment I heard about this piece of casting news I didn't really understand it, I thought somebody like idris Elba or Bryan Cranston would have been more suitable for the role of lex in batman vs superman. Now I have seen the picture I must say that it is a little bit of a mixed bag for me.

Now first the positives, love the fact that he shaved his head because if they had lex Luthor in this film with hair it would have just confused me and felt out of place. Also he looks pretty menacing in this image which is important because in previous superman films all lex has been after is real estate which is pointless to the film. But this lex looks intense and like he is willing to do whatever it takes to take down superman and maybe even Batman.

Now the negatives, it just looks so bit weird, I don't know if it's just the shape of his head or the fact that it is such a departure from his normal look that just makes me feel like it looks a bit weird. Also this image doesn't strike me as a guy who is one of the most intelligent men on the planet and can out think superman which is a key part of the character. Also and this isn't eisenbergs fault but he just looks way too young to be a lex Luther who can take down superman, but who knows maybe he will prove me wrong.

Overall this image is a bit of a mixed bag to me but I am glad they showed us it and didn't hold it to the movie because we needed to see this image before the movie.

The Flash episode 15 Out of time review

I have seen the new flash episode and I definitely need to talk about this, be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episode yet.

The premise of the episode sees the brother of the original weather wizard return to central city to kill Joe. While Cisco looks into the relationship between Harrison wells and the reverse flash.

Grant gustin was really good in the episode, even though neither of the main stories focused on him in the episode he provided a good moral outlet and he also carried most of the romance scenes.

Now the supporting cast was awesome this week, Harrison wells or should I say eobard thawne is a great character usually but now that we have seen him reveal himself he is going to be even more interesting to us. Cisco was great in this episode and his chemistry with Tom Cavanaugh is great which allows you to but the tragedy when thawne kills Cisco. When I saw the promo for the episode I thought it would all be about finding out that Harrison wells was the reverse flash but it really wasn't the weather wizard played a huge part in the episode. I really liked what they did with Liam mcintyre's character and he pulled it off really well. Joe was also great, I thought he had to pull off allot of the emotion in the episode. Now that the romance part of the series is picking up I think we are going to see Rick cosnett thrive as Eddie thawne who we now know is a descendant of so eobard thawne.

The story was great in this episode with revenge being a key part of the episode and the way the stories were done, Gotham should take some tips from the flash because this show only has a few stories but gives us enough screen time for us to care about the characters. There were some massive moments in this episode obviously. Eobard thawne revealed, him killing Cisco and iris west finding out that Barry is the flash. But it does feel a bit of a tease because of the end of the episode when Barry accidentally travels back in time. Time travel can be great and can be bad so I am glad they are giving it a go but I hope it doesn't hinder the show.

The script was great in this episode with the right amount of humour and some great emotional moments that make this show really hit with the audience.

The style was fantastic as well, with the flash doing superpowers it is expected but weather wizard's powers looked fantastic and really were spectacular to look at.

Overall this may be my favourite episode of the flash so far and I really see it having a strong final run to the finale.

Gotham episode 13 Welcome back Jim Gordon review

I have seen the new episode of Gotham and I think it is about time I spoke about it. Spoiler alert if you have not seen the episode yet.

The premise of episode sees Jim Gordon back in the gcpd looking into a killer over the drug dealings in Gotham. Meanwhile, penguin and fish continue to have their conflict over power.

Ben McKenzie has had a bit of criticism from me so far but he deserves credit because this was a great performance in this episode and he was a great character that the audience could root for.

Donald Logue is great as Harvey bullock and his chemistry with McKenzie is improving and their relationship is the best part of the show. This was the first episode as well that I bought jada Pinkett Smith as a mobster and her character took some interesting turns that can lead to more interesting circumstances. The character of the penguin has been great all season but in the last few episodes they have made penguin a weak character which makes sense but it doesn't mean I am a big fan about it.

The problem I have with Gotham is the speed that the main story is moving at and that continued in this episode. With Gordon and Tompkins hooking up last episode I thought that would provide an interesting angle but that was completely ignored this episode. Also there are quite a few stories still going on and the show doesn't give most of them enough screen time for us to care and makes me feel like they should have left them to season 2. I did find it interesting that bullock and fish are lovers because I didn't really see that coming and again that could add up to something interesting.

The script had more humour in this episode but also I felt like the drama worked for the episode and make this feel like an important episode.

The style of Gotham is great but I do hope they improve there action is improved like arrow in the future.

Overall this episode was good but there are still problems with the series.

New details on X-Men Apocalypse have been revealed

This has been a big week for X-Men fans as quite allot of news broke about characters who will be in X-Men Apocalypse and there futures after this film.

First this week was an interview with Nicholas hoult the actor who plays the young version of beast saying this may be his last film in the role unless they can agree on a new contract. In the same week another interview was conducted with Jennifer Lawrence who plays young mystique who said that this will be her last X-Men film. Now I really enjoyed both of their performances in Days of future past but this will be their third film and I get the feeling that this is going to be the last film for this specific cast and even though they are great it seems like the heads of Fox have decided to move on to a new cast for future X-Men films.

Also there have been some cameos that have been about confirmed, it has been confirmed that changing tatums gambit will debut in this film and this makes sense because he is going to be having his own standalone film so I am fine with this. It has been rumoured for a while that Ian mckellan is returning as magneto and I am a bit mixed about that because if Patrick Stewart isn't there then it just won't really feel right to me. The obvious one is that Hugh jackman will return as wolverine the question is how big his role is going to be. I hope it is a big role because he is great in the role and these films feel different when he isn't in it in a big way. So far it seems Deadpool isn't going to be in the film which is a bit surprising due to his film coming out before apocalypse.

Overall with Bryan singer in the helm I have really high hopes for X-Men Apocalypse.

The Russo Brothers confirmed to direct Avengers infinity part 1 & 2

Big news the past week with captain America winter soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo are going to replace joss wheddon for Avengers infinity war part 1 & 2.

So with captain America civil war still to come by these directors the opinion on this decision could change but at this moment I think this is a really good decision. I absolutely loved captain America winter soldier and I am really anticipating civil war, and this is different to my usual rule of directors. My usual rule is that two films in a franchise are enough for a director because they run out of ideas for the third film. But in this case the Russos are moving from captain America films to Avengers films which is a completely different type of film.

Now these films have huge expectation on them because all the marvel films have built up to this and everything is riding on these two films. This is going to be a massive cast because of all the characters that have been introduced by this film and after seeing winter soldier I have allot of faith in these guys to give the characters all the shine they need.

Overall this is great news and I am really anticipating these films even more now.

Premier league weekend roundup

The weekend of the premier league has come and gone and it is time to talk about it.

Best scoreline of the weekend - Manchester city's 3-0 victory over west brom was the best scoreline of the weekend. The game was over in 2 minutes when Gareth McCauley was sent off for west brom. Still man city haven't over impressed but they recovered well after there poor result against Barcelona.

Best performance of the weekend - Manchester utd have not been a winner of this award much this season but their win against Liverpool this weekend was a great performance. Then last few weeks have seen a turn of fortune for the team and they are playing with allot of confidence now.

Best player of the weekend - there were a few contenders for this award this weekend like Juan Mata, David Silva or Olivier giroud. But this definitely goes to the hat trick hero Harry Kane, his three goals against Leicester won spurs the game and he is in top top form heading into his first England caps.

Best manager of the weekend - this has to go to Louis van gaal because it has taken time but he now has turned Manchester utd into a team that look comfortable in their position heading toward the end of the season.

Major talking points - it seems instead of a race for top four it is becoming a race for the second position and that is going to heat up towards the end of the season. Also it seems that Leicester and qpr are going to really struggle to stay in the league this season.

Thor : The Dark world (2013) review

In my continued job of watching all the marvel movies I have now just rewatched the Thor sequel The Dark World and I do really enjoy this film.

The premise of this film sees The Dark elves return to get a complete power that can turn the universe into darkness. So Thor, Jane foster and an unlikely ally as they attempt to stop malekith and his army.

Chris hemsworth is great as Thor and this role has really defined his career and he is great in this film as Thor and he is a hero that we can truly believe in and a charismatic part of the marvel films.

The supporting cast was a bit of a mixed bag, first of all was the return of Tom hiddleston as Loki, who really boosts this film. He is just such an interesting character and he is really conflicted which makes him the one character that you want to see more then anybody in this film. Anthony Hopkins returns as Odin and he does a great job in this role with him being the dad figure that the character is meant to be and he is also a conflicted character in the film. Now I like Natalie Portman as an actress but ever since those star wars films I get the feeling like she has struggled to get momentum back. I don't buy her relationship with Thor and she doesn't really fit in the film. Also Christopher eccleston plays malekith The villain of the film and he really doesn't stand out at all and is actually quite forgettable which is probably not helped by loki's appearance.

The story was okay with more time in asgard in this film and some interesting back stories. But character motivations aren't really looked at, and the bad guys plan feels really underdeveloped and it hurts the film.

The script is good with allot of funny and Whitty dialogue between characters but also the drama is portrayed well and it adds to The character development.

The style of this film was great with the action scenes being done really well and the cgi asgard looked great in all its glory.

Overall this is another great addition to this universe.

Final rating - 8/10

Mission Impossible Rogue Nation teaser trailer review

After a long wait we have finally got the first trailer for the new mission impossible film rogue nation and I must say that this looks like it's going to continue the high quality that was Ghost Protocol.

With this film coming out in July I am surprised by how late the promotion for this film has started but now it is here I am still anticipating this film so much. We also got the first synopsis with Ethan hunt and his team looking to take down a rival organisation called the syndicate.

This minute long trailer shows just why this franchise is going strong, all I require from a first trailer is a tone and this trailer showed the same action and great stunts that ghost protocol did so well and Tom cruise is good at. Also after seeing edge of tomorrow has established Tom cruises quality as an action star and I think he is the best around.

Also this trailer shows a little bit of the rest of the cast with Jeremy Renner and ving rhames returning and I loved them in the previous films and I think they will add allot to this film. Also Alec Baldwin is a great actor and I think he will be a good addition to this film. The story looks good and with a rival organisation it allows them to have more action and more great fight scenes.

Overall I am really looking forward to this film and I really hope it doesn't let me down and I don't think it will.

Divergent (2014) review

I actually have a little bit of interest in the new film insurgent so I thought I would watch the first film of the franchise Divergent and I am going to say I am pleasantly surprised by this film.

This film is set in a dystopian future when the world is split into 5 factions, where there are some people that don't fit into any factions these are called divergents. tris is one of these and she has to hide it to survive.

Now I haven't seen allot of shailene Woodley in the past but she was great in this film and really carried this film to be honest. I loved seeing her transformation from normal girl to efficient warrior and you bought it because of how good her performance was.

Theo James plays the romance for Woodley and to be honest I wasn't a huge fan of this guy and to be honest he seems more suited for another franchise called twilight. Kate Winslet is a great actor but this film really undercut Her acting ability by giving her about 20 mins in the film. The big surprise though was jai Courtney as one of the bad guys and I actually liked him in this role and bought him in this role and he was good in this film.

I do like training in films like this so the first half of this film was pretty interesting to me but after that it goes a bit off the rails. First of all they don't really give enough information on this dystopian future. Also I didn't really buy the love story at all and the overall story seemed pretty weak as well.

The script was okay with the drama towards the end of the film actually coming across well and making you care about the film. However, there was allot of cliche dialogue that really didn't help the characters in the film.

The style is one of the best things about this film with all the action being shot brilliantly and it made me feel like this action was all real and really well done.

Overall this is a good film and definitely means I will try to watch the sequel insurgent.

Iron Man 3 (2013) review

Next up for my marvel film reviews is the much talked about Iron Man 3 and yes right off the bat I will say I like iron man 3.

The premise of this film sees Tony Starks life turned upside down when he encounters a terrorist called the mandarin. Meanwhile an organisation is trying to use science to take down the president of the United states.

One thing that can't be denied is just how good Robert Downey jnr is as Tony stark and that continues in this film. Yes he is now an avenger but that doesn't stop him from still being the narcissistic billionaire that made us all fall in love with his character.

The ssupporting cast was great in this film, Gwyneth paltrow is great as pepper Potts and her character is given more relevance in this film. The chemistry that her and Downey have is really good and one of the best in comic book film history. Don Cheadle returns at rhodey and he does a good job in this film as his character feels more important and once again his and Downey downey's chemistry is really good. Guy Pearce is really good in his role as Aldrich Killian been though he feels a little bit cliche. Ben Kinsley plays the mandarin as he did a great job in this film and felt menacing which was necessary.

There are aspects of this film that feel right for action films and twists that come out of knowhere that adds to the films story. However, there is one big twist in this film that people will either accept or hate and that can affect how your viewing experience goes. Personally, I hate the twist and I think it drags the quality of the film down but doesn't ruin it.

The script was pretty good in the film with a lot of humour but sometimes it feels a bit out of place because the mix of drama and comedy doesn't feel right and does indeed feel wrong.

The action scenes were great in this film with iron man never looking better, but I have a bigger problem with the style. This is that this is a Tony stark film and iron man is barely on screen which does take away from the validity of the character.

Overall I like this film but I definitely think it could have been better.

Arrow : League of assassins trailer

As with the flash arrow has got a new trailer documenting the next few episodes and what we can expect to see happen with a lot of bombshells revealed in this trailer.

With over the next few episodes it is clear that the big thing will be Oliver's choice whether to become the new Ras Ah Ghul and leave the arrow behind him. It seems that the city are going to turn on the arrow and make him truly consider become the head of the league of assassins but I expect he will go back to being the arrow by the time we get to season 4 of arrow.

Something that I am really looking forward to is that it has been confirmed that the next few episodes will look at the infrastructure of the league of assassins and what their motivations are and how there organisation works. I have wanted this since last season and it is great that we are finally getting this. Also we get the return of the suicide squad, diggles wedding and Roy and thea look like they are getting back together.

A big part of arrow has been how people react to when they find out that Oliver queen is the arrow and it has been revealed that two people will find out his secret. Ray Palmer will find out, were not sure how but that could be important for the atoms progression. Also after 3 years captain lance is going to find out that Oliver is the arrow and it seems that he is back at odds against the arrow due to Sara's death, leading Oliver to contemplating becoming Ras ah ghul.

Overall I am buzzing for the rest of this season and I think it could lead to a massive finale.

The Flash : Flash vs Flash trailer

The Flash has had a great first season so far and a new trailer has come out looking at the rest of the season in detail with the show getting even crazier.

The Flash trailer has alot of big news in it starting with the fact that team flash will find out that Harrison wells is the reverse flash in the next few episodes, with the way wells has been set up this season it feels like this reveal will destroy the relationship between barry and Harrison to the point of new return. Also his motivation was revealed more by the line 'I promise Barry Allen you will die' which ssurprised me because I thought wells needed him alive but my theory is that he has been pushing the flash to become more powerful so he can steal the flashs power that will give him enough power to go back in time to save his wife and save the future.

We also see a lot of cameos from arrow in the trailer with felicity, Ray Palmer, laurel and captain lance coming on the show. Obviously we are not 100% sure what they will be doing but it is great to see them coming on the show. Also the villains were showed off starting off with the new weather wizard who looks like he is going to cause a lot of stunning effects that could have catastrophic cconsequences. Then the return of the rogues captain cold and heatwave who were treating their previous episodes and now that they know Barry's the flash they can Use that to their advantage. Then we see the trickster who is played once again by Mark hamill who looks like he is going to truly thrive in this role and it is great to see him in more stuff. Then you see the craziest villain yet in gorilla grodd who looks great and I think he is going to be seen crucial part of the rest of the season.

I must say the romance of the series has not impressed me this season but from this trailer it looks like it is going to pick up, iris and Barry's relationship looks like it is going to advance into something more and this is going to start the Eddie thawne villain turn. We see him conflict with Barry and we actually see him killing other cops even though I believe that will be under grodds mind control it is clear that the show is going to turn him into a villain soon.

Overall this trailer has me excited for the rest of the first season of the flash.

Arrow season 3 episode 15 Nanda Parbat review

The return of Ras an ghul happened this week and we first saw the atom so this was a pretty big episode for the series. Be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episode yet.

This episode sees Malcolm merlyn kidnapped by the league of assassins and taken to nanda parbat with Oliver and diggle looking to invade the league to save merlyn. Meanwhile, Ray palmer finally activates his ATOM suit.

Now Stephen amell played his usual self in this episode but you felt like his character was the one who was looking after everyone else to try and justify heading to nanda parbat.

The supporting cast was really good this week, we finally got the return of ras ah ghul and I love the character because he is easily the most dangerous man on the planet but we now see that he is a bit of a damaged character with his motivations. Thea has become a well more interesting character this season with her being completely damaged and realising that she is completely damaged, if you see her progression it is great. Diggle was great in the episode as he really was Oliver's moral compass and he is still that now. Ray Palmer is back on the show and he is one of the funnier cast members and he is back with his charismatic energy bring something different to the show and his chemistry with felicity is great. Laurel has been a much discussed character since the show began but her character arc has been great and she seems to possibly be the most relatable character on the show.

I do feel like the title of nanda parbat was a bit of a tease as the majority of the episode was in starling until the last 20 mins. But seeing the journeys of the characters was really interesting and all these characters are really interesting too me. By the end when ras offered Oliver to become the new ras ah ghul it was a bombshell even though I predicted that would be the case and it really does set up some tense situations to the end of the season.

The script was good with allot of drama and there was the comedic element with Ray and felicity. The drama with the league of assassins provided real situations.

The style was great with the big action scene at the end being one of the best in arrows history. I also liked the different scenery of the episode as it makes me feel like this show isn't restricted to one place.

Overall this was a really fun episode and it is clearly setting up a crazy end to the season.

England squad reaction

Today the England squad was picked for the qualifier against Lithuania and the friendly against Italy and I am going to give my reactions to the squad.

Goalkeepers
Joe Hart - is easily England manager Roy hodgsons pick for his top goalkeeper and after last night's performance against Barcelona how can you argue that Hart is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Fraser forster - a really impressive season for the Southampton keeper and he truly deserves his selection and may even play in the friendly match.

Defenders
Leighton Baines - has had a difficult season but still remains England's first choice left back, even though I don't think he really should be in the team.

Gary Cahill - Chelseas centre back has had a bit of a mixed season but good enough that he still merits a place in the squad, also the lack of quality defenders guarantee his selection.

Nathaniel Clyne - the Southampton right back is the best in the league in his position and his selection is obvious and he should play both games.

Kieran Gibbs - the left back has had a pretty decent season and deserves his place in the squad even though I think Baines will play over him.

Phil jagielka - as I said earlier there isn't too much quality in the centre back position and that is why jagielka is in the squad as he had not had a great season.

Luke Shaw - I can't believe Shaw is in the squad as he has been injured for the majority of the season and when he has played has not impressed. I think Ryan Bertrand should have got this place instead of Shaw.

Chris smalling - similar to Jones he has had a pretty decent season so far and deserves his place in the squad based on his league form.

Kyle walker - after returning from injury walker has impressed for spurs and his return to the squad is the right decision.

Midfielders
Jordan Henderson - Englands most consistent midfield player has been so impressive for Liverpool in the centre of the park that he is one of the key players for England.

Ross Barkley - similar to Shaw I can't believe that Barkley has got in the squad due to his injury problems and lack of form that should have allowed for somebody else to get his spot.

Michael Carrick - Carrick has been an important player for United this season and I think he can still be important for England in these big games.

Fabian delph - delph hasn't really had that impressive season and I don't think he should be in the squad with a player with a bit more belief should have come in.

Adam lallana - when he first moved to Liverpool lallana struggled but now he is in top form and is a creative player that can help get through harder teams.

James Milner - even though he hasn't played every week Milner has been really important for city this season and his ability to play a few positions helps his cause.

Raheem sterling - another really good season for sterling and his electric pace really gives England something different and gives the team a great outball.

Andros Townsend - I don't understand how Houston can pick Townsend because he has barely had a kick for spurs this season and when he has I have not seen a consistent impressive run for him. I think Ashley young should have got this place in the team.

Theo Walcott - I think if Alex oxlade Chamberlain was fit then Walcott wouldn't be in the squad but he isn't so he is in and since returning from injury he had done a decent job so why not have him in.

Forwards
Harry Kane - the biggest no brainer in the selection, after an impressive 26 goals this season he had to be picked and he should start at least the qualifying game.

Wayne Rooney - the captain was always going to get picked and he has been in top form recently which truly makes his selection even more obvious.

Daniel sturridge - recently returning from injury sturridge has impressed and is a good choice for the squad but I think he is now behind Rooney and Kane in the pecking order.

Danny welbeck - not lit the world a storm since joining arsenal but Roy seems to trust him in his side, even though I would have chose Charlie Austin instead.

Those are my opinions for the England squad which I was pretty happy with.

Non-stop (2014) review

With Liam neeson's new action film run all night I had a chance to see the action film from last year non-stop and I will say that I was a little disappointed because this film is completely average.

The premise sees Liam neeson as a US air Marshall who is on a plane that has been hijacked and that every twenty minutes someone on the plane will die.

Now Liam neeson is great in these roles and this one is no different as he truly gets committed to this role and proves that he can still be awesome as he gets older. He really is the saving grace of this film and is easily the best part of the film.

In this film there are allot of suspects that could be committing the hijacking, Julianne Moore is the most developed of these characters and she is good in the film in her role. Even though there are some other decent performances none of the characters are fleshed out and you will not care about them.

The story of this film is where it completely derails, this hijacking story could have been simple but the events that people die are just ridiculous and convoluted and take away from the film. Also when the hijacker is revealed the reasoning for it is completely bonkers and ridiculous that it makes you laugh a little bit.

The script had its dramatic and funny moments but allot of the dialogue felt cliche and it really didn't help the performances as the dialogue made them feel pretty lifeless.

The style of the film was a bit surprising, there was more suspense to action in this film and the suspenseful scenes really worked for me. But when the action scenes came it was quite hard to see what was going on and it took the film down a notch.

Overall this isn't a bad film but it is completely forgettable and The definition of average.

Focus (2015) review

I have just seen the new Will Smith con film Focus and I must say that I enjoyed this film.

This film sees a con man going about his work until an old lover walks back into his life and turns it upside down.

Now will Smith has got some hate for his last film after earth but I am happy to report that he is back to being will Smith in this film. He is so charismatic and he is an interesting damaged character in this film that makes you truly want to root for him even though he is a con artist.

Margot Robbie is not just a pretty face this and her role in The wolf of wall street proves that this girl can act. She was also great in this film with her playing the con artist perfectly and her chemistry with Smith was great and the real backbone of the film. I do wish however, that there had been a villain worthy of taking on and trying to con them and that would have probably added to the film.

The first half of the story is great with them committing cons and Margot Robbie being trained by will Smith is really interesting but then the second half of the film happens. It becomes too convoluted and it just slows down allot and crawlers crawls to the finish line.

The script was probably the biggest surprise of this movie as it really worked and all the dialogue was funny, witty and interesting. It really made these characters feel alive and great personalities despite what they do.

The style of the cons was good and the different locations in the film helps it allot. But I always had the problem that the soundtrack plays over allot of the dialogue and it just takes  you out of the film.

Overall I liked this film and was better then I expected and if you like con movies then you might enjoy this film.

Gotham episode 11/12 review

Gotham has been gone for a few months in the UK and now it is back with both episode 11 and twelve. Now I know I haven't spoke about gotham that much on this blog so I will give a quick intro on my feelings for Gotham so far. It has underwhelmed me to say the least, with all these rich characters in this rich setting it could be understandable that they have tried too much and until they become more focused on the important characters then this show will fail. Be careful for spoilers if you haven't seen either episode yet.

These two episodes focus on Gordon's demotion to arkham asylum and his relationship with Dr Leslie Tompkins as he tries to stop the villain the electrocutioner. Also falcone tries to get the mob sorted in Gotham and for himself to come back to his usual self.

Now I must admit I thought mckenzie's performance as Jim Gordon was a big wooden in the first half of the season but I like this Gordon much more. He has become a more fleshed out character and seems to have more humour to him, that maybe due to his new workplace or a new love interest who he has great chemistry with.

The ssupporting cast was pretty decent too, Dr Tompkins is a big character in the Dc universe and it was a great decision to bring to the show because she has added allot to the Gordon character that was completely necessary. The villain of the electrocutioner was pretty interesting but he just lacked a little something to make him a truly interesting villain. Falcone was great and I am glad it seems like he is going to be a larger influence towards the end of the season.

I was interested in the Gordon story and the falcone story, but it just feels like the story of Gotham is moving at a snail's pace compared to their competitors. Also it still has the problem that the series is focusing on too many characters at the same time which brings problems about what characters we should truly be caring about.

As I said before the script was better with more funny dialogue between the characters and it seems like the wooden dialogue is starting to evaporate.

The style of the episodes were great with the effects for the police station scene in episode 12 was one of the best I have seen from any comic book show this season.

Overall these episodes were a little bit of a step up for the show but they still seem to have some of the problems that they had in the first half of the episodes.

Premier league weekend roundup

We have just completed the premier league fixtures for the weekend and it is about time to talk about it.

Best scoreline of the weekend - a big surprise was Aston villa's 4-0 victory over Sunderland which was definitely the best performance they have done in a while. Sunderland were terrible but credit should go to villa for their performance.

Best performance of the weekend - this could have gone to either Aston villa, Manchester utd or the team I gave it too Burnley. There 1-0 victory over Manchester city was their best performance of the weekend and an absolute shock. They played with real high pressure put on the champions that gave them the advantage in the game.

Best player of the weekend - I don't believe that goalkeepers get enough credit but Fraser forster gets my player of the weekend. Chelsea would have definitely won on Sunday if forster wasn't in inspired his team to get a positive result.

Best manager of the weekend - Tim Sherwood has done a great job since taking over villa and he deserves credit for the job he has done especially since they didn't have the best start.

Major talking points - obviously after man city's defeat by Burnley the title looks like it is definitely chelseas for the taking. Also after Liverpool, arsenal and man utd won their games the race for the top four has Become completely open.

Edge of tomorrow (2014) review

I have heard allot of good things about edge of tomorrow and I have finally seen it and I have allot of positive things to say about the quality of this film.

The premise of this film sees a spokesman for the US army forced into the frontlines of a war with aliens against his will. When he dies in battle he wakes up reliving the day over and over as his team try to defeat the aliens.

Now Tom cruise is a pretty big action star with him thriving in the mission impossible franchise but when I saw the trailer for this film I thought it would be similar to his previous film oblivion, which I was not a huge fan of. However, he was great in this film as he really is a reluctant action star which is different to the character he usually plays and it was a refreshing performance to say the least.

Emily blunt is great and this film truly got the best out of her acting ability. She was an interesting character and also a great action star that really provided a different layer to the film. Her chemistry with cruise was great in this film and was one of the standouts in this film. Bill Paxton plays the drill sergeant in the film and he was good in he role even though you have seen him in this role before the man is good at it. I do wish though that there was an interesting alien character in the film that cruise and blunt have to go against and if that had happened this film would have got full marks.

The story was really interesting with the resetting of time allowing them to play around with the action and character elements of the film. This concept showed some great death scenes and also allowed the two lead characters to have interesting interactions that were not the norm.

The script was surprisingly great, this film was actually pretty funny which I don't particular require but it really does add something to this film.

The action scenes were fantastically done and it was great to watch and as I said before with the concept it allowed for some great death scenes.

Overall I love this film and I definitely think you should see it.

Star wars episode 8 gets an official release date and the first spin-off film gets a title

It has been a big week for star wars fans with the release date for star wars episode 8 and also the title of the first spin-off film was revealed.

We found out this week that star wars episode 8 directed by rian Johnson will come out in May 2017. I am a fan of his other big film looper and I think he may be the perfect choice for what I expect to be a darker film. I first want to see jj Abrams star wars film before I get too anticipated for this film.

Also big news is that the first spin-off film has been given the title of Rogue 1 and has a December 2016 release date. The film will star theory of everything actress felicity Jones, now I am a big fan Of her performance in that film and if the rumour of her being a young princess Leia then I think she will be the perfect fit. The film will be directed by Gareth Edwards, I was a fan of Godzilla and I can see him doing this dark film with young rebels and bounty hunters.

I am a big star wars fan and I am so anticipating these films.

Arrow season 3 episode 14 The Return review

It's a few days late but I have finally seen the new episode of arrow and I think it is about time to talk about it. Be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episode.

This episode sees Oliver and thea train on the island until deathstroke escapes from his prison and starts to cause havoc. In the flashbacks Oliver returns to starling city to find China white and the bio weapon which leads to many close encounters.

I have always been impressed with Stephen amell's performance as Oliver queen and this episode proved it. His relationship with thea and slade shows just how great he is, but the real quality is when he has to change his performances in the flashbacks and become a really sympathetic character.

Thea has become a more important character this season and she has become so much more interesting with the character given allot more interesting situations to handle. Yes I absolutely love the performance of Manu Bennett as slade Wilson and even though I feel like his role was a little underutilized I still love the character so much and it was great to see him.

Now I enjoyed all the island parts of the story with the training and the mirror of Oliver and thea worked especially with slades involvement. Thea Also finally found out that she was the one who killed Sara which seems to have fractured her relationship with merlyn which will need mending become before team end of the season. I did enjoy some of the flashbacks and seeing some of the characters in different circumstances was interesting but it clearly seemed there was some pointless scenes that were shoehorned into the episode.

The script was good with allot of good drama to it that really adds to these characters but also they add humour to the characters that makes them human to us.

The style was great because they used allot of locations from the first few seasons and it did make me feel happy to see them again.

This was a really good episode but I really think the show is gonna pick up the pace with the next episode Nanda parbet.

The Flash episode 14 Fallout review

I have now seen the newest episode of the flash so I better talk about it. Careful for spoilers if you haven't seen the episode yet.

This episode follows the fallout of last week's episode, General eiling is after firestorm for the military. Also iris west starts to become more interested in what is going on at star labs and Joe tells barry about the time travel theory.

Now I did say that I thought grant Gustin as the flash had been in the background in the last few episodes and even though this was another firestorm episode the secondary plot focused on barry and set up The rest of the season. And after seeing the promo for the next episode it seems it is all going to be about the flash and the reverse flash to the end of the season.

Now the supporting cast were great in this episode especially Robbie amell as Ronnie Raymond and Victor Garber as Martin Stein. They are two completely different characters but the chemistry between them was really good and you care about both their characters. Harrison wells was as great as always because the performance always seem to have a different hook to them and it draws you in to what will happen to him character. Caitlin and xisco were great in the film too, Caitlin really added some drama to the episode while xisco brought the laughs with his references. Clancy Brown played a cool villain even though his character seemed to become a bit of an afterthought for the time travel and firestorm plots.

The story was great in this episode as you really start to see the two men in the firestorm matrix connect and create an interesting new hero who we can learn about in New episodes or possibly a spin off show. They finally started the idea of time travel this episode and I am really looking forward to seeing how they deal with it, also this is possibly the best end scene of the season with wells in the reverse flash gear and grodd, I can't wait to see that big gorilla. The only negative is the iris story because they haven't made here character interesting and I couldn't care less if she just died which the show really needs to improve on.

There was allot of great humour in this episode with he fun terminator and back to the future references. Also most of the drama really worked for me.

The style of the film was cool even though I do question how the army got all these ridiculous futuristic weapons from.

Overall it was a really good episode, the Flash is on break for a few weeks now but by the look of that episodes promo it seems that team flash are finally going to find out the identity of the reverse flash. Gotham is finally back in the UK on Monday night and I will have that review on here after I watch it.

Daredevil series trailer 2 review

The second trailer for the Netflix daredevil series has hit the web and I am definitely getting more and more excited to see this series after the two trailers.

I actually enjoyed this trailer more then then first one and this is the one that makes me expect a marathon when the episodes come out. Just a reminder of the plot, a man is blinded as a young child but the rest of his senses are heightened. By day he is a lawyer trying to protect the innocent but by night he becomes the vigilante Daredevil.

I really like Charlie Cox and I think he will be a really good Matt !Murdoch, I first saw him in the fantastic Mathew Vaughan film stardust and recently in the Theory of everything and he comes across as a really nice guy in both which is why I am intrigued to see him become this violent vigilante.

The trailer also seems to reveal the kingpins motivation that he wants to take over the mob to limit the amount of crime in hells kitchen. It reminds me a bit of superman in the game injustice God's among us and I think the kingpin will evolve into an incredibly intriguing character.

The one thing I question is the tone of the series, I mean I like dark action and I totally think it is necessary for this series but I feel like I have seen it before. I am a huge fan of the DC show Arrow and this show feels very similar to that show even to the fact that it seems that there are training flashbacks. I need to see more then an arrow clone for this show.

I must also mention the reference to the Avengers in the trailer and say that I loved it, it now makes me realise that this is truly a marvel show. Yes, this show has a much more gritty realistic tone then the films do but it means they are still linked and that if the show turns well Daredevil could turn up on agents of shield or in a film.

Overall this series looks great and I can't wait to see it.

We have our new Rick Flag in suicide squad film and Hawkeye confirmed for captain America civil war

Some big comic book movie news this week is that the Joel Kinnaman is the new Rick Flag in suicide Squad and that Jeremy Renner will be returning as Hawkeye in captain America civil war.

First big news is that after Tom Hardy's departure from the suicide squad film Warner bros have been looking for a new Rick Flag. Now they have Robocop actor Joel kinnemen to play the character and this doesn't really excite me that much. No disrespect to the actor I actually think he is an alright actor and I thought he made for a decent Robocop but he is no Tom hardy and that was always going to be the problem in this circumstance. Hardy is one of my favourite actors around and I was really looking forward to seeing him play the leader of the suicide squad which I now know isn't happening. I also worry about this film a little bit for a few different reasons. The fact is that people have compared this film to guardians of the galaxy but that was marvels 10th film in this universe but this will be the third film in the DC universe and I think this film may be a little too early. Also now this film lacks star power and they are really banking on the fact that it is a comic book film because after will Smith and Margot robbies focus not doing great in the box office it shows these stars aren't enough for this film.

More casting news is that as expected Jeremy Renner is going to be in captain America civil war as Hawkeye. Now I am happy about this because I really do think his character hasn't got the shine the actor deserves and he can really add something to this film that I am so excited for. But this brings up something that bugs me about comic book films these days, because they have announced this it takes away that unpredictability in Age of Ultron because I now know Hawkeye won't die. It is like in the first Avengers film when it looks like iron man is dead I knew he wasn't because they had finished making iron man 3 but I will say this will not ruin the film for me at all and I am happy bout the news.

Premier league midweek review

It's a bit late but it is now time to talk about the midweek round of premier league games.

Best scoreline of the midweek - it's a tie between Liverpools victory over Burnley, man city's win over Leicester and stokes victory over Everton by 2-0. Man city sort of fumbled there way to the victory whereas Liverpool seem to be hitting top gear at the right time.

Best performance of the midweek - this actually goes to an unsung team for stokes performance over Everton. They looked solid in defence and we're pretty creative going forward that allowed them to get this result.

Best player of the midweek - one of the success stories of the season has been the rise of Jordon Henderson in the Liverpool midfield and in the absence of Steven Gerrard he run the show against Burnley. He is becoming one of the most consistent players in the country and is adding goals and assists to his game.

Best manager of the midweek - Jose mourinho has had a great week to say the least and chelseas victory Over west ham truly showed it. An away game against west ham could have been a banana peel but they defended to a man and that is why they will win the league.

Major talking points - away from the spitting all of the top teams won in this midweek and it seems the teams at the bottom are drifting away in their search for survival.

Hercules (2014) review

There was two Hercules films that came out last year, I have reviewed the legend of Hercules and it is one of the worst films I have ever seen but I must say this one is much better.

This film sees Hercules and a group of mercenaries as they are hired to take down a rivaling nation until they realise something else is going on.

Dwayne the rock Johnson plays Hercules in this film and I thought he did a really great job in the role, I am a big fan of the rock and I think he was perfect for the role as Hercules. The character was portrayed in a different way to what people believe and I thought this was a great move.

The rest of the mercs we're cool warriors and Ian mcshane was the best character around and really helped give him character. John hurt was great in the film as well and his character was pretty interesting. The characters were really awesome but I felt they could have used more development to make them more interesting characters.

Now I was happy that the story took a different route with the character and it was interesting to me, also their is an interesting twist in the film that liked. However, for the majority of the film goes as you expect and is pretty cliche to be honest.

The script was a bit better then I thought with some funny dialogue but there is also allot of cliche dialogue in the film.

The style of the action scene is really good and when they happen they are well shot, however, some of the CGI is pretty poor and looks pretty bad.

Overall this is a decent film and one that I think you can enjoy.

Avengers Assemble (2012) review

We're only a few months away from the Avengers : Age of Ultron and I have just rewatched one of my favourite comic book films of all time the first Avengers film - Avengers Assemble.

The story of this film sees a team of combustible elements brought together to take down a mad man who has an alien army to try and enslave the earth.

Now obviously this film was a well thought out project with years and preparation and a huge part of that is Robert Downey jnr's performances as Tony stark/iron man. Over the films he has been in and this one his character grows but he is still the same narcissistic character that he has always been and it is awesome. Also Chris Evans as captain America is really important to this film, he comes across as the headstrong leader he is meant to be and the moral compass of the film.

The rest of the cast is also superb, first of all is the recasting of Mark ruffalo as Bruce banner/hulk. Now normally I am not a big fan of recasts but this is one that really worked and Ruffalo killed it in the role and surprised everybody with his performances and the incredible hulk is the biggest badass possibly put on screen ever. Chris hemsworth returns in his role as Thor, and this guy oozes movie star and this role is truly his best and he really gives this character personality. Scarlett Johansson returns as black widow and she truly shows her awesomeness in this film, she is sexy and tough which makes her the best female character in this universe. Samuel L Jackson is back as Nick fury and he totally owns the role and feels like a true member of the team. The only member of the team that feels a little underdeveloped is Hawkeye who for most of the film is unimportant, but even then in the final 30 mins he becomes relevant and a great character. One thing that is really important in a film like this is a great villain and Tom hiddleston as Loki is one of the best villains in recent memories he is just so entertaining and makes this film completely better.

The story for this film is really quite simple with a group of misfits having to get over their differences to work together and defeat a dangerous enemy. Sometimes simplicity really works for a film and I really believe this film was better for the simplicity of the narrative.

The script though is the best part of this film, the dialogue between all the characters is the thing that really keeps this film ticking. This makes the characters feel completely unique and all of them feel special.

The style is great, all the action scenes really work and the film looks great but then you see the show stealer which is the incredible hulk in all of his glory. This is the best The character has ever been and he truly stole the film.

Overall this film is completely epic and easily one of my favourite films ever.

Arrow season 3 episode 13 Canaries review

The new episode of arrow has come to the UK and I must say this series is getting better and better. Be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episode yet.

This episode sees the return of the villain vertigo as he attempts to widespread his drug with laurel being one of the casualties. Also all the secrets were revealed meaning thea knows that Oliver is the arrow and captain lance now knows that Sara is dead.

Now that Oliver is back the character is back in his prime and I really enjoyed his performance in this episode because you can clearly see he is having problems returning to his home with his team.

The rest of the supporting cast did great in the episode, laurel was the main character and her character really has developed over the last few episodes and it now seems like she is more like the true canary. Thea was a great character in this episode and I was massively and pleasantly surprised by the way her character reacted in this episode. Peter storemare is a good vertigo even though I didn't feel like his character was that important in this episode. It was great seeing caity lotz in the episode too. Praise also has to go to Amanda Waller waller, Malcolm merlyn and captain lance for their small performances in the episode.

I am so happy that all the secrets are now in the open because it gives all the characters more dynamic dialogue and allows for more fun interactions. I think the flashbacks will become really really good now that they threw that curveball of them coming back to starling city. Also now that they all know each other's identity it will allow for more action between the characters. I also must say that when lance found out about Sara there was a slight tear from me as I saw this character break down and lose everything in his life. Also credit to the show for killing off the annoying DJ.

There wasn't allot of humour in the episode and it was a dark episode but sometimes I can really enjoy this mood if the episode is right.

The action wasn't that impressive this week but I feel like it will improve especially with the return of slade Wilson in the next episode.

Overall I really enjoyed this episode and I think the episode was a perfect set up for the rest of the season.

The Flash episode 13 The Nuclear Man review

The newest episode of the flash has now aired in the UK and I think it is about time I spoke about it. Be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episode yet.

This episode sees team flash attempt to separate professor Martin Stein from Ronnie Raymond and split the firestorm matrix before it goes nuclear. Meanwhile, Joe and xisco go more in depth with Barry's mother's death and Barry tries to date Linda.

I really like grant Gustin as The flash and I actually surprisingly enjoyed all the funny romance in the episode.  However, I have started to notice that he is wearing the flash costume less and less and that the actual flash story isn't really centred around him but a core supporting character or characters.

The supporting characters were great this week and his is why I enjoy super hero tv shows because it gives the supporting characters that are enriched in history more story and time on screen. Robbie amell was fantastic as Ronnie because he has to play two characters and his character is really now being developed and becoming a person we have to care about. Caitlin Snow was also great because her role in the episode was quite heartbreaking and you truly felt sorry for her character. Harrison wells himself didn't have a huge part in the episode but he came across as quite evil and an interesting character who is really hard to read. I liked the pairings in this episode and  xisco with Joe really works for me and is a pairing I hope to see more from.

I think the character of firestorm can be really interesting and this episode gave the character justice and made him seem like an important part of the series. It is now revealed in this episode that Harrison wells will need a New way to time travel and that General ilin wants firestorm for the military. Also it is revealed that an older version of Barry was present for his mother's mother and this truly opens up time travel which it looks like will happen in the next few episodes.

The dialogue was funny in the episode but new when to become dramatic and emotional towards the end of the episode.

The style of firestorm is cool but I am glad they didn't showcase it too much in this episode and looked at the character more in depth.

Overall this was a really solid episode for the ever improving first series.
