It has been an awful week for English teams in Europe with only Everton getting a positive result and the rest being embarrassing.
Now let's recap the results first Manchester city lost to Barcelona 2-1 at the either stadium. Actually not many people had high hopes for city and there performance was okay and at least they are still in the tie even though there chances look pretty slim to go through. Next was arsenal losing 3-1 to Monaco at the Emirates. When the draw was made everybody thought this would be easy for arsenal but Monaco played fantastically at the Emirates and arsenal showed there bad defending which leads them to be on the brink of elimination. Next to the Europa league and first spurs lost 2-0 to florentina in Florence. Spurs lacked a true offense in this game and showed why they are not ready for the champions league. And the final negative result was Liverpool losing on penalties to besiktas in Turkey in a pretty dismal performance.
Now people say the Barclays premier league is the most exciting league and with the that I agree with them however, when people say the top premier league teams are ahead of the other leagues apart from Chelsea they are far from it. The problem is that when these teams like man city and Liverpool try to play the offensive football they play every week in England and the team's from Europe are better defensively and more clinical in attack to punish our teams. To have a chance our teams need to learn that defensively they need to improve and may be they need to become more tactically astute to give themselves a chance.

arrow/flash spin-off announced
Now for a while now we have know that the producers of arrow and the flash have been trying to do an atom spin off, but it seems they have gone a bit of a different rout. It has been announced that an entitled spin-off show is coming and that actors confirmed are Brandon routh, caity lotz, Victor Garber and Wentworth Miller. It has also been revealed that 3 completely new dc characters will be introduced in the show.
Now yes Brandon Routh is coming on the show as Ray Palmer so maybe this is going to be an atom show but I really don't think it is going this way. I think this is going to be more of a team up show such as justice society. However, I am not sure how much Oliver queen or barry Allen will be on the show so I believe that he will be the one that is the lead performer for the show.
Now to the 3 other performers announced first the shocker is that caity lotz is on the show for those who don't know she played the Sara lance black canary who died at the beginning of this season of arrow so I am not sure if she will be coming back from the dead as Sara or if she will be playing anew character. Victor Garber is coming on as Dr Martin Stein Now in the UK we have seen very little of his character and at the moment he is a part of firestorm with Ronnie Raymond but the fact that Robbie amell hasn't been announced for the show means something will happen with Garbers character. So far one of the best things about the flash has been Wentworth Miller's portrayal as captain cold and I am so happy he is coming on the show and hopefully we get more captain cold in this show.
Overall these are all very quick thoughts as we know very little about the show and we can properly speculate once we know a bit more.

Fifa planning a winter world cup is down right stupid
It has come out that a fifa task force has decided that the world cup in Qatar in 2022 will take place in November and December with the potential final being just a couple of days before Christmas. I am here to voice my opinion that this is a stupid idea and the fact that Qatar ever got the world cup was stupid.
Now when Qatar won the right to host the world cup it was obvious that this decision was going to have to be made and I just thought that Qatar would possibly lose the right and they should lose the right to host the world cup.
The problem with this is that when Qatar campaigned to host a summer world cup so they have now changed the goal posts and changed their campaign which means a revote should be necessary. If Qatar can host the world cup in he winter then why can't the other nations who were up against them do the same thing. But that isn't going to happen because fifa is one of the most corrupt organisations in the world and if a revote was called then Qatar would probably reveal the corruption they were involved in.
The fact that Luis figo thinks a winter world cup is a good idea just proves the problem that fifa has. For years now everyone including myself has been demanding that president sepp blatter be removed and I wouldn't care who replaced him but now it is clear that fifa has more corrupt leaders and it is going to take a massive shakeup for things to change.
But one thing that I think fifa has underestimated is that this decision could cause football civil war between the European clubs and Fifa. The fact is that 85% of players in the world cups play in the European leagues and this decision is going to completely mess up the European leagues especially the Barclays premier league. It has been revealed that fits will not pay compensation to the European leagues so I think there will be a massive cat and mouse for these two organisations to co exist.
Overall I hate this decision and I really wish there was a different way for this all to go.

premier league weekend roundup
I know it is really late but now I am going to look at the premier league results from last weekend and how it has affected the season.
Best scoreline of the weekend - this goes to Manchester city's 5-0 destruction of Newcastle in dominating fashion. Manchester city proved just how good they can be with their offensive qualities.
Best performance of the weekend - on occasion the top two awards go together and this is the case with this week as man city had the best performance of the weekend. Their creative and offensive players ripped Newcastle apart and gave them absolutely no chance.
Best player of the weekend - it's gotta be man city's David Silva who scored two of city's goals on the weekend and truly runned the show and showed how football should be played.
Best manager of the weekend - this award is actually going to go to Swansea boss Garry monk for his team's performance against Manchester utd in their 2-1 win. They played a little differently to their usual free flowing way and became defensively resolute to do the double over utd.
Major talking points - it's got to be the terrible refereeing this weekend whether it would be in the Chelsea vs Burnley game or the Southampton Vs Liverpool game the standard of refereeing is at an all time low and needs to improve quickly. Man city are now only 5 points behind Chelsea and the race for the top four is getting very interesting.

Arrow season 3 episode 12 uprising review
The new episode of arrow has come and I think this episode is definitely worth talking about. Be careful for spoilers if you have not seen the episode you should see it before reading this.
In a desperate attempt to take down brick team arrow have to contemplate an offer from Malcolm merlyn for aid. Flashbacks show how merlyn became the man he is and his ascension to the league of assassins. Also the arrow returned to starling city.
Now that Oliver is back I expect him to be the person we focus mostly on but this episode was a true Malcolm merlyn episode. John barrowman is so good as merlyn and whether it was in present day or the flashbacks he did a fantastic job in portraying this damaged twisted guy.
Roy, laurel and thea did a great job in this episode but I feel like there characters weren't that important to the episode. Vinnie Jones has truly become Danny brickwell and I loved what they did with his character in this episode and I really do hope he is back before the end of the season. Felicity was an important character in the episode but I felt like her reasoning was a bit naive and I just didn't like it. The character that I think will have the most dramatic tale of the rest of the season is Quentin lance. It is clear that he is starting to work out what is going on and when he finds out that Sara is dead and laurel has been lying to him I don't see how that relationship can be repaired.
I love seeing the merlyn Flashbacks and have finally given me the origin story that I have wanted since the first season of arrow and now I want more merlyn Flashbacks. I also love the fact that they revealed that brick was the one who killed merlyns wife and this gave him much more character and a reason for this episode to go down. The big siege mentality of the episode was great and I love that it looks like Merlyn will be the one to train Oliver to beat the league.
This was a more dramatic episode so the drama was really played up, I do kind of wish there was a little more humour in the episode to allow a bit of a lighter mood.
This was one of the best action scenes in arrow history and it really was great to watch all these characters throw down and look important without the arrow.
Overall this is one of my favourite episodes of the season and I hope to see more like this is.

The flash episode 12 Crazy for you review
Even though it is a little late I have seen the new episode of the flash so it is time to review it. There will be spoilers so if you have not seen the episode yet then go and see it before reading this.
This episode sees the flash having to deal with peekaboo a teleporter who is using her powers to help her criminal boyfriend. Meanwhile Barry and Caitlin try to move on in there love life and xisco breaks pied piper out to try and figure out what happened to Ronnie Raymond.
Grant gustin was great in this episode mainly with his scenes with Caitlin that were really funny to watch and also his relationship with his father was really moving to watch.
The rest of the cast also did a really good job with Caitlin snow and Barry's dad delivering the best performances. Caitlin was humorous and you enjoyed watching her in these funny situations. John Wesley shipp hasn't had loads of scenes so far as Barrys father but they are always impactful and this was his best role yet. I enjoyed both xisco and pied pipers performances this week and enjoyed the arc they had. But I wasn't really a huge fan of the villain of the episode peekaboo, I thought she was a bit weak and not an interesting villain.
The story involved with the villain really didn't involve that much and wasn't that interesting but everything else was. I really enjoyed the Caitlin/barry story and the xisco/pied piper story that was more enjoyable then the flashes story. Obviously though with the end credit scene showing grodd in the full this series is going to pick up a notch.
The script was pretty funny and cringeworthy at times that really worked for this episode.
The style of the action scenes with peekaboo and flash was good and it was nice to see an interesting fight scene between The two.
Overall I enjoyed this episode and think the flash is continuing it's solid form.

The Theory of everything review (2015)
I know it is a little late but I have finally been able to see the Steven hawkings biopic The Theory of everything and even though I thought this wouldn't be my cup of tea I ended up loving it.
This film is the story of the greatest physicist ever Stephen hawking and his relationship with his wife and his problems with his life altering disease.
Now I always think an actor has done a fantastic job when they become a role and I did not see Eddie Redmayne on screen I saw Stephen hawking. Because of the disease hawking has he becomes more disabled as the film goes and this brings out more and more layers of his acting ability as he has to put all his acting chops on the table and show us that he deserves the Oscar which I am now really happy that he got.
Felicity Jones is really good in the film as his wife and you can tell they have great chemistry together, you feel for her character as she goes through this situation and you root for her just as you root for hawking which is no small feat. Credit to Charlie Cox aswell as I liked his role in this film and even though it wasn't huge it was nice to see him before He becomes Daredevil.
Now this is a really interesting story because it deals with the life of one of the greatest minds to ever live and thus his life is an interesting complicated journey that we have to see. I do however, wish we had seen a bit more of his work and theory then we did and that may have bumped the score of the film up a bit.
The script was a massive surprise to me because of the subject matter I just expected it to be a dramatic film but there was allot of comedy in the film. Now I don't always require this but it really did work for this film.
The style of the film is a bit of a mixed bag, I mean the film is beautifully shot and looks beautiful but I just feel it went a bit over the top with its visuals and it wasn't really necessary.
I loved this film and I think you should definitely see it.

Zach Snyder reveals Jason momoa as aquaman
We have known for a while now that Jason momoa will play aquaman in the new dc universe and will make his debut in Batman vs superman dawn of justice. He also has a solo film in 2018 and by the look of the image he will be in both parts of the justice league.
First of all the look is absolutely perfect, Aquaman has been a bit of a joke in the comics for his look sometimes but nobody will be laughing at this atlantean king when he is in action. Looks wise momoa is perfect for the role and I believe he can deliver a performance worthy of the king of Atlantis. His armour seems to pay homage to his comic book character and with the trident it seems like he is going to be an awesome warrior that can even give superman a run for his money.
Now just as important as the look is the message that comes with the picture : UNITE THE SEVEN. Now many people have speculated that aquaman Will turn up at the end of dawn of justice and start to assemble the justice league for a big reason leading to the justice league film. It seems that the justice league at least for the first film will be Aquaman, superman, batman, wonder woman, green lantern, the flash and cyborg. It is a big deal that they would allow this character to assemble the league and make him a massive character for the future of the DC universe.

Whiplash review (2015)
With the Oscars coming up I have finally seen best picture nominated whiplash and I must say that this film is not only my favourite film of 2015 so far but this may be one of the best films I have ever seen.
This film sees a young inspiring drummer in music school and he moves into the top class but clashes with a radical teacher who attempts to get the best out of his students by any means necessary.
I've seen miles teller in a few things and have always thought he was a decent actor mainly in comedy but little did I know this fantastic dramatic actor was inside of him this entire time. He does such a good job in this film as his character is ridiculously relatable as we have all wanted something so badly that we are willing to do anything to get it and he is willing to give up his life for drumming. His chemistry with jk Simmons is also phenomenal and carries this whole film, I tell you that if the fantastic four film is good he will have a major say in it.
Now there is only one other performance in this film to worry about and that is the absolutely breathtaking performance by JK simmons in this film. He is possibly the biggest douche ever put in film but I actually understand where he is coming from in some way. His character is understandable because he is just using his own methods to try get the best out of his students and just watching these two clash provides intensity that I have rarely seen.
Yes there is music involved in this film but that is hardly what the film is about, this film is about the determination to become the best in your field and how much you are willing to sacrifice to get there. Seeing these two clash over something they love is inspiring and really intense to watch and I just couldn't get enough of it. This story really is simple but has so many layers to it to make this the thing that drives this story forward.
The script is fantastic, all the dialogue from teller and Simmons was so natural and fantastic that it just brings you In and makes you feel like you truly know these two characters.
The style is great, the physical and mental implications make this film the dramatic juggernaut that it truly is and will make you feel the tension that the fantastic end of this film provides.
Overall this is an epic film and one I hope the Oscars give full credit too.

Bad Neighbours review (2014)
I am a big fan of Seth Roger comedies and I have finally had the chance to see bad neighbours and it is another hit for this group of comedians.
This premise sees a couple with a newborn child that have a frat house move in next to them. As they attempt to take care of their child a battle ensues between them and the frat house.
Now people criticise Seth Rogen because they believe he is the same character in everything and that is true but he is really good at it. I think he is really funny and this film is no different as he is great and his chemistry with rose Byrne and Zac Efron really helps carry the film.
Now Zac Efron has had an interesting career so far but this is the film that is easily his breakthrough. He is really funny but also gives a performance that makes you feel a little sorry for the character and like his character even though he is really seen as the bad guy of the film and that takes talent. I knew rose Byrne was funny but this was the film where she really hit here stride and delivered a hilarious performance and she is a character that you would love to hang out with. I feel a little sorry for Dave Franco because he is clearly the less talented of the Franco actors but he was funny in this film and he did the annoying character well.
The Story was alright with the contrast between the two groups being interesting and the simple cranking being funny. I just wish that the film had a little more drama to it to make us care about these characters a little more.
The script is great with allot of quick witted dialogue that made all of the characters funny and made them easy to laugh with and like.
The style works for this film and the absurdity does a good job, however some times it gets a bit ridiculous and does take you out of the film.
Overall this is a great film and if you are a fan of comedies like this you should definitely see it.

Arrow season 3 episode 11 midnight city review
Arrow episode 11 has just come out in the UK and I must say I really liked this week's episode. Careful for spoilers if you haven't seen the episode.
This week's episode sees team arrow attempting to stop bricks crusade from taking over the glades. Oliver is recovering and more is revealed about maseos character.
Now usually Stephen amell is the lead of the show but at the moment it is dealing with his recovery and to be honest not allot is happening with his character. I think this was a true laurel episode and I know some people still think it is too early but I love the way her character is being portrayed. She sucks as a hero but she is a symbol while Oliver is gone and eventually she will become the true black canary that we all want to see.
Maseo was great in this episode as in the flashbacks we finally see his character progress as he proves that he will do anything for his family and I love the parallels it had with merlyn. Merlyn and thea have had an interesting story arc so far but it has been put on the back burner but I believe that it will progress more and I really like the chemistry that John barrowman and willa Holland have. A real surprise is just how good Vinnie Jones has been as the mobster brick he is awesome and has really thrived in this role. I think that felicity was the real heart of the episode and it allows the rest of the characters to become the heroes they are meant to be. I think that captain lance hasn't had allot to do so far this season but it is clear that he is going to be a damaged character and I can't wait till he finds out about Sara. My only complaints about the characters is that kitana is being featured allot and I don't think we have seen enough of the character to care about her enough yet.
I loved the story as it showed the mob warfare in startling and that brick is a true villain to be feared, I also loved how laurel is a struggling hero that will need to learn as she goes along this season. I also loved that Oliver has not returned yet because I hope it builds up his recovery as a big deal when he returns, in next week promos it seems like he will be returning and if done right could work but I kind of wish they had dragged out that story longer. It was also revealed at the end of the episode that theas DJ is working for maseo and the league of assassins which could be interesting if his relationship grows with thea over the coming episodes. I still think there is a bit of work to go to make the flashback scenes as interesting as present day.
There was some funny moments in the episode and the drama with maseo, laurel and captain lance really hit me and what I love about this show is that it is about the characters and I really care about the majority of the characters on the show.
With Oliver being out of action I like how Roy and laurel are getting more of the stunts and the action with brick really works for me.
Overall this is one of my favourite episodes of season 3 and I hope it can keep up the quality of the storytelling.

Neil Blomkamph is directing Alien 5 and X-men Apocalypse casts a young Nightcrawler
A couple of big film news has been broken the past few days with it announced that district 9, Elysium and chappie director Neil blomkamph Will be directing a new alien film. Also announced by X-Men Apocalypse director is that a young nightcrawler has been cast in the film.
The first big news is that a new alien film is coming, now I love both the original Alien and it's even better sequel Aliens but I can admit that the other films haven't really lived up to what they should have. I have not seen the spin off Prometheus yet but it was announced that she prometheus two was coming and to my knowledge that is still the case. The thing that has me really excited about this film though is the director, I love the two blomkamph films so far and I am really looking forward to seeing chappie. He just does sci film really well and does a great job in combining the sci film elements with real human characters that you can care about as this is true with both district 9 and Elysium. I can't think of anybody better to revive the alien franchise then blomkamph and I am incredibly hopeful for an awesome alien movie.
Now to the news that kind of slid under the radar this week is that we are getting a new nightcrawler. Kodi smit-Mcphee has been cast as a young Kurt Wagner in apocalypse, X-Men 2 is one of my favourite comic book films of all time and Alan Cummings performance in that film was one of the big reasons so I am happy we are at least seeing the character brought back to the big screen. Similar to the other new cast members I don't really know the actor but I am hoping he can deliver a good performance in the role as he has big shoes to fill.

The flash episode 11 The sound and fury review
I have now seen episode 11 for the flash and I thought it was time to review this episode.
The premise of this episode sees a former protege of Harrison wells returning to punish him because of an accident that occured to him thanks to wells.
Now grant gustin is great as Barry Allen but I actually thought he wasn't that important in this weeks episode. This episode wasn't really about the flash it was more about pied piper and Harrison wells. It looks like he will be more important in next week's episode though.
I will admit that I absolutely love the character of Harrison wells and think this character is one of the most interesting out there, I loved all of his scenes and it is cool how we are learning slightly more about him every week. The villain pied piper was good I think they didn't look at some aspect of the character because they are saving it for a future episode but his relationship with wells really drove this episode and did it well. This was probably my favourite Xisco episode yet as we still had the humour but it is clear that there is more heart to the character that was shown in this episode. I will even admit that even though I am still not a fan of the character iris joining a newspaper company is a step in the right direction for her character.
Now the overall story was really good with this being a really humanizing episode for Harrison wells. His relationship with pied piper in the flashbacks and present day were always interesting. We learnt some interesting things too, first that wells has some reverse flash powers but it is only temporary. That pied piper knows how to find firestorm and potentially save him and that Harrison wells plans to steal barry Allen's power and that Joe is looking into wells. All of this is important as it sets up potential future episodes.
The script was good with allot of comedic dialogue but there was a bit of drama that aloud us to realise that even though their is all this tech that this show is all about the characters and making us care about the characters.
I had a few problems with some of the action scenes as some of pied pipers weapons looked bad and the CGI wasn't as good as it could have been. I thought the pacing was better this week though.
Overall this was a really good episode that focused on the characters and made you care about these characters more.

The Terminator review (1984)
With Terminator Genysis coming out in a few months I thought it was about time I rewatched the other terminator films Starting with the first.
The story is that in the future the machines have taken over the world but are defeated by a leader of the human resistance called John Connor. In a last ditch attempt to reverse this they send a terminator back to the 1980s to kill his mother Sarah Connor thus him never being born. In response Connor sends one of his best men Kyle Reese to protect his mother from this terminator.
Now Arnold Schwarzenegger is known for playing the terminator but this was really along with Conan the barbarian one of his first films and he was perfect for the role. He totally got across the mechanical aspect of the terminator and he was great in the action scenes, it seems that he is one of the greatest villains ever in this film which is funny considering that I think he is the lead of the film.
Linda Hamilton is best known for her role as Sarah Connor in the second film but she was good in this film and really got across her character well and made you feel sympathetic for her character in her situation. Lt Traxler was also a pretty cool character even though he wasn't in the film allot. My one problem with this film though is the character of Kyle Reese, now I'm not sure if it was the performance or the fact that he is just there for exposition that made me dislike the character and you will not really care about his character at all throughout this film.
The story is great, James Cameron really did time travel right and in the process really created an interesting sci film universe. The plot was pretty simple but it worked and made this film exciting throughout which is hard to do in any film.
The script is great, these characters have the right amount of dialogue for them I mean the terminator doesn't say that much which is perfect and the interactions between characters were really interesting.
Now this film came out in 1984 so the style was completely different to what I expect you will see in terminator genysis but I think it was perfect for this film. All the action scenes were fantastic and keep you on the edge of your seat as the madness is carried out. Also I loved the depiction of the future as it gave you this dystopian attitude that perfectly fit this franchise.
Overall I think this is a fantastic film and one that you should definitely see.

Birdman review (2015)
It is my aim that before the Oscars that I will watch all the best picture nominations and I have now seen birdman and I think it is fantastic.
This story sees a washed up actor deciding to direct and star in a Broadway show in an attempt to get over his former fame as a big comic book star.
Now Michael keaton is one of my favourite actors and I believe that this is his best ever performance. This is because his character in this film is kinda like Michael Keaton in real life after being batman. This performance is worthy of an Oscar and I truly believe he will win the Oscar for his role in this film.
The supporting cast is also fantastic, Edward Norton plays an actor who truly emphasises the Hollywood ideal in this film. He plays the douchebag well and you accept that he is just a different actor to everyone else in the film. Emma stone plays keatons daughter and she is great in the film as a damaged character that feels like she is misunderstood by her father. Zach galifanakis plays his best friend and he is great comedy value for the film but can also be quite serious.
The story is fantastic as it truly looks into the real world and how the film industry is these days. It looks into big Hollywood blockbusters and how they affect an actors true potential and this is true with the Indies aswell and I am glad a film finally had the guts to make this real life situation into its narrative.
The script is great with a really good blend of humour and drama which really made the film flow and made these characters feel like real people.
The style is incredibly unique, from the beginning of the film it is shot to be all one take and it is great, it makes the film feel alive and ever moving and makes it feel alive. However, there are some real pacing issues at times and does hurt the overall quality of the film.
Overall this is a fantastic film that everybody should go and see especially if you hate the film industry at the moment.

Arrow season 3 episode 10 left behind review
Arrow is back in the UK and after the shocking events of the mid season finale there was allot of changes in this episode. Warning there may be spoilers in this review so if you haven't seen the episode then you should see it before reading this.
After Oliver's disappearance, arsenal and diggle continue to clean up the streets of starling until a new gangster rises in power. Malcolm merlyn gives the team a visit to give them the news about Oliver. Felicity trys to convince ray to give up his crusade and laurel finally debuts as the black canary. But the biggest shock is that maseo and kitana have healed Oliver and he is back alive.
Now with Oliver missing for the majority of the episode it meant that the rest of team arrow had the chance to step up. It has been argued that John diggle has been a bit of an irrelevant character so far in season 3 but this episode just proves how key he is to this show especially with Oliver missing. Roy was given all of the big stunts of the episode and it seems that Roy is missing that big brother at the moment and you feel for his character. Felicity was great in this episode as she makes you truly feel the severity of the situation and the fact that the man she loves has died and makes us feel as miserable as she did. Laurel wasnt a huge part of the episode but I truly hope that her character evolves and she doesn't just become as good start fighter as Sarah was straight away. The same thing could be said about ray Palmer as he is on a similar arc to laurel and that is interesting even though he isn't the most important character on The show at the moment. Vinnie Jones debuted as the comic book character Brick and he is great as the gangster and I believe he can be one of the better villains of the season. A special mention to John barrowman as he is always great as Malcolm Merlin.
The story of the episode really focused on the aftermath of Oliver Oliver's death and Also bricks attempt to take over the glades. I really enjoyed how the new team worked together and how the fallout of the last episode really affected all the characters. I really hope the black canary arc is given time to build which is necessary. I am starting to like the flashback scenes more and I think they are starting to get interesting with this bio weapon story. I predicted that maseo would be the one who would heal Oliver but I didn't think it would be this soon, I wanted them to draw it out more but I really hope they don't have him come back to starling soon.
The dialogue was great with merlyn having the best dialogue in the episode but everybody held their own in this emotional episode that had a somber tone.
The action scenes were great with Roy and diggle getting the best action and brick coming across as a brutal villain and I can't wait to see more action scenes involving him.
This episode was great with allot of positives to it after The Fantastic mid season finale, I do have a few fears about them rushing some stories but I really hope they don't rush it and keep the high quality of season 3.

The Flash episode 10 revenge of the rogues review
The flash is finally back in the UK and this is a really strong return for the show after the mid season finale. There may be spoilers in this review so if you haven't seen the episode yet you really should before reading this.
This episode sees the return of captain cold as he teams up with heatwave and they attempt to kill the flash.
After the shocking final moments of the mid season finale this episode needed a strong start and I think Grant Gustins performance was great and I really believe he is a fantastic flash and it really puts the pressure on Ezra Miller to perform in the film.
Tom cavanagh didn't have his most important performance in this episode but he still does a great job in this episode and makes you really intrigued in what the future holds for his character. Eddie thawne is a character that has been underdeveloped so far but now it seems he has respect for the flash and I believe this is the start of his road to becoming a reverse flash just like I predicted. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell were superb in their roles and really made the rogues an interesting group that is worth focusing on. My favourite character was Joe though because this episode really put the spotlight on him and I thought he was the heart of the episode. However, I still feel like iris west is a boring character and they really need to improve that before the end of the season.
The story of the rogues was great as it made these two characters interesting as they aren't exactly best friends and it helped the episode. I did feel like they rushed the intro to the firestorm project in this episode and I hope they give it more focus in the future. Obviously the end credit scene saw the rogues escape and captain colds sister being introduced, she is a rally important part of his life in the comics and I think he could be important when she debuts later in the season.
There was allot of funny dialogue like always and Harrison wells is a character who manages to make even the smallest of things seem menacing which really helps the character.
The end fight between flash, captain cold and heatwave was great and it really showed just how great tv can look and how these powers make this show so much different to arrow which is necessary.
Overall I really did like this episode, I thought the new characters were great and I really am interested in the majority of stories. I did think there was a little pacing issue and I still don't care about iris but I think these are things that will be improved.

Premier league midweek roundup
Here is the midweek roundup for the premier league.
Best scoreline of the midweek - Manchester city have been poor as of late but there 4-1 win over stoke was a great result for them. This was a performance that reminded me of their late run last season and if they play like this towards the end of the season they could win the title even though I think it is unlikely.
Best performance of the midweek - west Bromwich were the real winners in this midweek with their 2-0 victory over Swansea. Now that Brown ideye and saido berahino are starting to play well they have every chance to stay up and I think more performances like this will easily guarantee safety.
Best player of the midweek - a surprise is that new signing hull striker dame ndoye started against Aston villa and a goal and assist is a pretty good way to mark your debut for your new club. Hull fans will just have to hope that he is the one that can keep them up.
Best manager of the midweek - after this gameweek Chris Ramsey has been given the job as QPR manager to the end of the season and he got their first away win of the season. He has turned the club around a little bit and their fans will hope the inexperienced Manager can get them to safety.
Major talking points - some of the lesser teams like hull, west brom and QPR got key victories that makes the bottom of the table really competitive and interesting towards the end of the season. Also after results the battle for top four is wide open and it could end up being decided on the last day of the season. Overall it has been a really competitive league so far and I think it will continue to the end of the season.

Kingsman : The secret service review (2015)
I have just got out of seeing kingsman and all my mates agreed me with me that this is one of the funnier films they have seen in recent memory and a real surprise hit.
This film sees a young chav being recruited into a secret spy organisation by a mentor to take down a crazy internet hacking billionaire who plans to destroy all of mankind.
Now in the lead is Taron Egerton as eggsy and I really want to see this kid in more stuff after this. His character could have been incredibly unlikable and hurt the film but he had the quality to make us care about his character and like his character which is impressive and shows he has real potential.
It also helps that they give him a fantastic supporting cast in this film. Colin furth plays his mentor in the film and he has never been better, he was like a Roger Moore bond with his cool style. But he has never done better action then in this film and I truly believed every action sequence he did and how great it was. Samuel l Jackson plays the villain in the film and I definitely think he is the funniest character in the film, the character is given a lisp and I truly believe that he was the only actor who could make this work and make his villain hilarious. Mark strong plays eggsys trainer and he is also great in his role as an instructor. Michael caine plays the head of kingsman and does a great job as always in his role.
The story is the one weakness in this entire film, I know this is just meant to be a fun film and the story doesn't matter but I believe that a fun film can still have a really intriguing narrative to it but not this film. First of all we have all seen the rags to riches story and this one is just as cliche as all the others that have come before it. Also Samuel l Jackson's plot feels complicated and over the top for this film and a slight hint at something deeper that wasn't necessary. There was also a moment in the film that I didn't like at all and think it could have been handled allot better.
The script is fantastic and had some of the best dialogue in a recent film. The humour was great and almost everything hit making this a hugely funny film, also the banter between the characters made this film feel alive and something that you should watch.
The style was great, the action is insane and fantastic at the same time, their is one scene involving Colin furth in a church that in my opinion maybe one of the greatest fight scenes ever. It did what it set out to do and it did it with flying colours.
Overall this is a great film that I advise everybody to watch and I will definitely be looking to get it in blu ray.

Premier league weekend roundup
Time for the weekend roundup.
Best scoreline for the weekend - a lack of big scorelines this weekend sees spurs 2-1 win over arsenal being the best. A great individual performance by Harry Kane that shot them to victory.
Best performance of the weekend - this again goes to spurs, after going behind to arsenal early on they came back with two late goals to win the north London derby. Spurs are consistent at getting back victories and it may help them to a top four finish.
Best player of the weekend - no shocks here, Harry Kane once again gets this award, after winning the north London derby it is clear that this boy is the real deal and that he has a really bright future.
Best manager of the weekend - For once this award doesn't got to spurs, I am giving it to west Bromwich manager Tony pulis. After being 2-0 down at half time pulis managed to motivate his team to get the game back to 2-2.
Major talking points - Harry Kane is clearly the real deal and it is clear that he should be an England player for the next fixtures. Also Louis van gaal has been getting allot of criticism for his style of play but all I will say is that if it works other managers shouldn't complain about it. The battle for top 4 is heating up and it is clear that this may go to the last day of the season.

Spider Man is officially in the marvel cinematic universe!!!!
Massive news today is that Sony and marvel have agreed a deal for spider man to become a member of the marvel cinematic universe from now on.
Now this means that Spiderman can be in any marvel films including the Avengers films. Sony still have the final say on the character but marvel have a much larger say in what happens in the films to make sure it stays in line with their universe. Now Andrew Garfield was great as Spiderman but after angering Sony and this deal he will be replaced and their will be a new spider man for this universe.
I don't believe he will be in civil war but it has been announced that Thor Ragnarok has moved to the end of 2017 and the spider man reboot will be in July 2017. There are allot of ways marvel can go with this but I really hope they stay away from telling a repeat of the origin story, I am happy with flashbacks but there is no need to tell the origin story again.
I never thought spider man would get back in the hands of marvel but it has finally happened and I am looking forward to the future of spider man.

Gotham : Rest of season predictions
Gotham has been gone in the UK for a few months and it hasn't got a return date yet but it has been confirmed they will get a season 2 so I have decided to make some predictions for the rest of the first season.
We will spend more time in arkham asylum - so far arkham asylum has been teased to us until Gordon was sent there in the mid season finale but I believe it will become key soon. It seems that arkham is linked with the mayor, mob and penguins ambitions do I think we will be there more, also it will be an easy way to explain more Batman villains coming on the show.
The show will become focused - so far my biggest complaint about the show has been that it really lacks focus and has tried to do to many stories in this first season. But now they know they have a season 2 I believe that they will throw some of the stories on the backburner and save them for season 2. I hope they keep the Bruce Wayne arc, the Gordon arc and the penguin arc and puts the rest of the arcs like Barbra and riddler in season 2.
There will be more traditional Batman villains - now that arkham is being used more I do believe that more traditional comic book characters will come on the show. It has been confirmed that we will see scarecrow, red hood, Hugo strange and they have even teased a future joker plot and that is what the show needs. Also we haven't been introduced to our big bad yet I don't think, so that will need to happen soon.
Penguin will take maroni and fish's roles as flacones right hand man - I think robin Lord Taylor as the penguin has been the best part of the show so far and I think his character will eventually evolve to the comic book character. I think by the end of this season maroni will be killed and fish outcasted so penguin will take their roles. I think eventually he will take falcones position but that won't be till season 2 at the earliest.
The Wayne's murder will not be resolved - I think that this part of the story has been forgotten recently and I think that this mystery will continue into season 2. In the comic Joe chill is the man that committed the murder but we haven't been introduced to him and I think they will go somewhere different. I expect that it might be the penguin or maybe even the joker who committed the murder but the arkham project and mob will become more important.
Overall the beginning of gotham has been okay and I think if they use these predictions it can end up being great which it will need to be to keep me watching for season 2.

Captain America : The First Avenger review (2011)
The next marvel film is captain America and this was one of the hardest films marvel had to do but I thought they did a great job on this film and it was better then I ever thought it would ever be.
This film is set in WW2 and sees a weakling in Steve Rogers who wants to fight for his country but is denied. He is then selected for a test to increase his physique and abilities to go against a tyrant who wants to destroy the world.
Now Chris Evans was the best part of the fantastic four films in my opinion and it was actually quite risky for him to come back to comic book films for the role. This is his better role and he is the perfect captain America, he felt so relatable as he was just a man that wants to do good and he is a good guy that wants to help everybody which is a great quality.
Hayley Attwell plays agent Carter and she is great in the film with her character feeling different to the other female characters in this universe and I really liked her relationship with captain America. Also Hugo weaving was perfect as the red skull and he made him a great villain that one day I want to see more of. Tommy Lee Jones was great as the head of the army and he was the comic relief for the film and it worked for this film. One performance that didn't really work was Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes. We are meant to care about this character but we don't have allot of screen time with him so it is hard to care about him.
The story of Steve Rogers is great, with him becoming this awesome character from a humble beginning and it makes us care more about him. However, one thing I do question is red skulls motivation and it isn't really clear as to why he does this and that hurts the film.
The script is great and it has the right mix of humour, drama and action to make this a really interesting coming of age story for captain America.
The style is a bit of a mixed bag, there is some good action scenes that show how cool cap is but they also montage through allot of the action and that is frustrating. Also the use of sci fi lasers bugs me because it takes me out of the time period but also it makes me question how nobody got their hands on the tech in 70 years.
Overall this is a great film and one that is definitely worth watching.

Agents of Shield : Rest of season predictions
If you have seen my agents of shield season 2 mid season review you will know that I have loved just how much the show has evolved and how their risks have really paid off. Here are my predictions for the rest of season 2.
Skye/daisy will leave the cast at the end of the season - now that we know that Skye is an inhuman it opens allot of different ways that they can go however, I believe it will end up with skye leaving the show. With the inhumans movie coming out November 2018 there is allot of time to build to it but I believe they will want a face we recognise in the film and this is where Skye comes in. I believe that she will be a big part of that film and that means she will have to leave the show to go live in Attilan.
Some of the cast will cross onto age of ultron and vice versa - it has been rumoured for the past few days that Skye, coulson and may will be in age of ultron and I think this does make sense for them to have a small role leading for coulson, May and the rest of the team to have a biggear role in captain America civil war. I also believe that some of the film characters will be on the show for an episode or two my main prediction is Jeremy renners Hawkeye. I do feel like his character has been underutilized and an episode on agents of shield can help him like it did for lady Sif.
Whitehall will return - so far Daniel Whitehall has been built up as the big villain of the series well that was until he was killed by Coulson in the mid season finale. However, the way he died makes me think he is going to come back, possibly involving the inhumans. Hydra has been a huge part of the series so far and without Whitehall they would have to go but I don't see that happening so he will come back some way.
Fitz and Simmons will get together - I must admit I love what the show has done with fitz and Simmons characters this season, probably because I didn't see this turn for their characters and also the acting ability to make it work. Their probably the two characters who I feel most sympathetic for at the moment because of how their relationship has deteriorated. I think this has to have an end game of them falling for each other and they could wait for season 3 but I think they need to go there by the end of this season.
Ward's end game will be revealed - since he betrayed the team in season 1 ward has become a really interesting character and it is clear his motivations are clouded. He is clearly evil, but has some sort of loyalty to Skye which will need to be explored in the future. After his business with his brother and hydra was concluded it seemed like he would stick with Skye but that hasn't happened. Now he is on the run with agent 33 but by the end of the season I expect his true end game will be revealed for season 3.
Overall I have loved season 2 so far and I think with these predictions it can get even better.

Transcendence review (2014)
Now this film is directed by Christopher nolan's main cinematographer and it is now clear that Nolan has all the brains behind the films. I just wish I could get these two hours back instead I watched this film.
This film sees Johnny depps character and others attempt to create a fully functional AI and once he is shot his wife and research partner attempt to upload him to an AI. He then starts to commit shady acts and become a worldwide threat.
Now Johnny depp has become known for playing eccentric over the top characters recently but in this film he plays a normal guy and it is nice to see him acting again. However, his character is not very interesting at all and not given anything to do and it really hurts the film.
Rebecca hall is an actress who is getting much more work for good reason and she is good in this film and she is probably the one with the best performance. It does seem that Nolan loaned out some of his regulars for this film but they weren't used that well at all. Paul bettany, cillian Murphy and Morgan Freeman are all good actors but there characters are not really given anything to do in this film at all And it hurt the quality of the film.
The story had all the potential to be great and really hit a high emotional level but it completely failed. This story didn't hit the high level that it should have done and it didn't feel as big as it should have been. For some reason this film takes place over a few years but it really didn't need to be and actually felt like it was completely illogical for this to be the case.
The script was poor and it really didn't allow any of the characters to be that interesting and didn't give us any real interesting moments with the characters.
with the cinematographer being a director this film impresses visually but I must admit that this film is incredibly slow and boring. I counted and it took 80 mins for any action to take place in this film and then it went on for like 30 seconds and really made this film hard to watch.
Overall this is a bad film and one that you really shouldn't waste your time seeing.

Daredevil Netflix series trailer review
I haven't spoke about marvels Netflix series plans yet and now the daredevil series trailer has come online and also the series has got its release date.
The story of Daredevil sees Matt Murdoch who is blinded but the rest of his senses are enhanced and he decides to protect the people of his city as a lawyer and also as the superhero Daredevil.
Now this trailer doesn't show allot story wise but it gives off a really good tone that reminds me of allot of arrow and that is not a bad thing. This series is in the same universe as the films and takes place in hells kitchen so I would expect references to the first Avengers film but not as much as agents of shield of the other films.
The tone is much darker and violent then the films and because this series is on Netflix they can get away with more so I would expect much more violence in this series. it has been confirmed that this series will be the first leading to a Jessica Jones series, a Luke cage series and an iron fist series which will lead to a defenders mini series. These characters are being described as the street level heroes meaning more action and darker moments.
It has been confirmed that all 13 episodes will drop on April 10th and I now am looking forward to this series and shows a daredevil we can believe.

Jurassic world superbowl spot review
There is allot of superbowl spots for big films but I think most of them showed the same footage as we have seen so I won't be talking about the terminator genysis or Avengers age of ultron spots. However, the one with the most info is definitely the Jurassic world spot and it has some interesting info in it.
Now there was some footage we have seen before but the new footage is what is important. The trailer shows Chris pratts character training a group of raptors and many people have been saying how stupid this is but I actually think it makes a little sense. Think the park is open now, they wouldn't be able to do that unless somebody could control the dinosaurs so Pratt is the one who has to take care of the dinosaurs and I think it is a unique idea that really could go either way.
I love the tone of this film so far and of course the theme song is iconic and it just as cool in this trailer. They also revealed the hybrid dinosaur and he looks exactly as I imagined and I think it will be a good monster for the film.
Overall I am really looking forward to this film and I hope it lives up to my high standards for it.

Premier league weekend roundup
Even though it is a bit late it is now time for the weekend roundup.
Best scoreline of the weekend - the winner of this is arsenals 5-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday. Goals from mesut ozil, Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, santi cazorla and hector bellerin Provided a victory over a real lackluster villa. Once again arsenal had less possesion then the opposition but they counter attacked perfectly and were ruthless in front of goal.
Best performance of the weekend - now arsenals performance could have got this award but I do believe that Newcastles 3-0 victory over hull was the best performance of the weekend because it was such a surprise.
Best player of the weekend - Harry Kane has risen so much this year and his two goals against west Brom on the weekend showed just how good he really is. His first goal was hit with allot of power and the confidence he had to grab the ball for the penalty just shows how confident he is. People have spoke about an England call up and I agree with those people and even think he should maybe start for England.
Best manager of the weekend - I am going for John carver because as I mentioned before he was under so much pressure in this game and he played some of the fringe players and it worked with everybody delivering and giving him the win he truly needed.
Major talking points - after Chelsea and man city drew on the weekend it leaves the title race open but Chelsea are still the masters of their own fate and they are definitely the favourites for the title. The race for the top four is starting to get very interesting with man utd, Southampton, arsenal, spurs, west ham and Liverpool all a few points away from each other and it is going to be really interesting to see who gets those two spots. Also the decline of villa had been huge and they need to start scoring or else they are going to get relegated.
Ted 2 trailer review
My most anticipated comedy of 2015 ted 2 has a trailer and I believe that it is definitely worth talking about.
The premise of Ted 2 is that Ted is now married and he is trying to have a child but to have a child he must prove himself to be a real person in a court of law.
Now I loved the first ted film and I am really looking forward to this film even though I do have some reservations about the sequel. What is great about the first film was the great mix of comedy and heart that really surprised me and made that film great and this trailer clearly sees the comedy will stick but I worry about the heart. I must admit that some of the jokes in the trailer including the Sam Jackson one were great but others didn't fully hit with me. The trailer also showed allot of comedy but not allot of heart and this film with its premise has the potential to have more emotional weight to it then the first film. Now I hope that all the best jokes haven't been shown in this trailer or else this film will be a disappointment but I found some of the trailer funny but I do really hope the film is at a higher level then this trailer shows.

Disney announces the confirmed future for star wars
With star wars episode 7 coming out in December, this week Disney have announced the future of star wars. In 2016 the first star wars spin-off film will happen. In 2017 episode 8 will happen, in 2019 will be episode 9 an the end of this new trilogy.
Now first to The spin-off film in 2016, the film is speculated to be a boba fett film and it has been confirmed that Godzilla director Gareth Edwards will be directing the film. Now I liked Godzilla but I don't believe it is as good as some people think it is and makes me a little nervous for this film. Now if it is a boba fett film that is what gets me excited, he is one of the coolest characters ever created and I hope he gets a film that he truly deserves. Obviously if episode 7 is bad this film will not be that anticipated, but I hope they give boba fett a film he truly deserves.
Now episode 8 is in in 2017 and it has been reported that it will be similar in tone to the empire strikes back and even though I don't believe this film will be as good as that film but the tone is right for a sequel. We will have been introduced to these New characters and hopefully this film makes them truly interesting and put them in a desperate situation.
Then in 2019 we are getting episode 9 and because it is so long away I won't talk about it that much but I believe that this film relies on the previous two to be awesome and I really hope it succeeds.
Overall I am so looking forward to the future of star wars and I hope this trilogy improves on the prequels but I just don't see how anything will reach those original star wars films which are my favorite of all times.

Thor review (2011)
The next marvel film to review is possibly the hardest film to do about the thunder God Thor and this film came out great.
The story sees the rash heir to the asgardian throne Thor being stripped of his power and banished to earth to learn humility and become the true God of thunder.
Now before this film Chris hemsworth was an unknown actor to the public but this is the role that has made him a big movie star. He was great as Thor he was a great action star when he needed to be, he was arrogant when he needed to be and he was relatable when he needed to be. It was a performance that made this God a really interesting character and a great member of this universe.
The supporting cast is a bit of a mixed bag though, Tom hiddleston was also not a big actor at this point but he took the role of Loki and made it truly memorable. His performance was great and he really encapsulated the emotion that Loki has in the comics. Anthony Hopkins was a fantastic choice as Odin and I cannot imagine a different person being Odin, he really encapsulated the father figure that Odin is. However, Natalie Portman is in the film and since the star wars prequels unfortunately she has not delivered her best work. This film is the same, her romance with Thor didn't work for me and I really felt she was a force in the film and wasn't really necessary and I didn't believe it was the reason that Thor changed. I also felt that skellan skarsgarrd was a bit of a throwaway character and his acting ability wasn't used in the best way.
The story is also a bit of a mixed bag. I really liked the brother feud between Thor and Loki and also loki's story was really interesting. However, I just didn't buy thor's quick transition on earth and how it made him the true God of thunder in this film. I also felt that Thor wasn't the true character of Thor for that much of the film and it hurt the film.
The script was great, there was actually allot of humour in this film and I actually think it worked for the most part in the film. There was also some big drama in the film and it really worked in the film.
The style was great in this film, yes there is allot of cgi used in the Asgard parts but that was necessary and it worked because it was necessary to show the marvel of it. The fight choreography worked in the film mostly as well even though I thought it could have been improved.
Overall you should see Thor and it is definitely worth being a part of this universe.
