The problem with this is that when Qatar campaigned to host a summer world cup so they have now changed the goal posts and changed their campaign which means a revote should be necessary. If Qatar can host the world cup in he winter then why can't the other nations who were up against them do the same thing. But that isn't going to happen because fifa is one of the most corrupt organisations in the world and if a revote was called then Qatar would probably reveal the corruption they were involved in.
The fact that Luis figo thinks a winter world cup is a good idea just proves the problem that fifa has. For years now everyone including myself has been demanding that president sepp blatter be removed and I wouldn't care who replaced him but now it is clear that fifa has more corrupt leaders and it is going to take a massive shakeup for things to change.
But one thing that I think fifa has underestimated is that this decision could cause football civil war between the European clubs and Fifa. The fact is that 85% of players in the world cups play in the European leagues and this decision is going to completely mess up the European leagues especially the Barclays premier league. It has been revealed that fits will not pay compensation to the European leagues so I think there will be a massive cat and mouse for these two organisations to co exist.
Overall I hate this decision and I really wish there was a different way for this all to go.
