Neil Blomkamph is directing Alien 5 and X-men Apocalypse casts a young Nightcrawler

A couple of big film news has been broken the past few days with it announced that district 9, Elysium and chappie director Neil blomkamph Will be directing a new alien film. Also announced by X-Men Apocalypse director is that a young nightcrawler has been cast in the film.

The first big news is that a new alien film is coming, now I love both the original Alien and it's even better sequel Aliens but I can admit that the other films haven't really lived up to what they should have. I have not seen the spin off Prometheus yet but it was announced that she prometheus two was coming and to my knowledge that is still the case. The thing that has me really excited about this film though is the director, I love the two blomkamph films so far and I am really looking forward to seeing chappie. He just does sci film really well and does a great job in combining the sci film elements with real human characters that you can care about as this is true with both district 9 and Elysium. I can't think of anybody better to revive the alien franchise then blomkamph and I am incredibly hopeful for an awesome alien movie.

Now to the news that kind of slid under the radar this week is that we are getting a new nightcrawler. Kodi smit-Mcphee has been cast as a young Kurt Wagner in apocalypse, X-Men 2 is one of my favourite comic book films of all time and Alan Cummings performance in that film was one of the big reasons so I am happy we are at least seeing the character brought back to the big screen. Similar to the other new cast members I don't really know the actor but I am hoping he can deliver a good performance in the role as he has big shoes to fill.
