Ant - Man trailer review

I wake up to see that the first real ant - man trailer has hit the internet and I must say I am massively impressed by it.

Now with this film written by Adam McKay a man known for his work on that anchorman franchise I thought it would maybe be overly comedic but no from the look of the trailer it looks like the blend of drama and comedy is really going to work.

The story of the film sees a thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is recruited by hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to become the ant man and commit a heist from a rival Darren cross (Corey Stoll) and save the world.

Now when Michael Douglas was cast as hank Pym I was skeptical because I wasn't sure if it would fit but boy it fits. He kills it with his monologue in this trailer and it really provides the theme of giving this average thief a second chance that this risk can indeed save the world.

Again I wasn't fully sold on Paul Rudd their but this trailer convinced me that he was perfect as Scott Lang. It seems by the trailer that the film is going to focus allot on the father daughter relationship in this film which we have never seen in a marvel film before. His and Douglas chemistry looks really good and I expect it to really carry this film and the comedic dialogue will work with these two.

The style of the trailer looks really cool, I mean we finally see the ant man suit and it looks great, also it seems he will be able to control ants which is quite a supernatural power for a mcu character. It seems by the trailer that this film could have a similar tone to the avengers with a good mix of comedy and drama that I am happy about. This trailer doesn't show a great deal about the story but this is the first trailer so I am fine with that.

Overall this trailer is great and it has made me superbly excited for ant - man.
