Southampton mid season review 2014 - 2015

Next up is the surprise package Southampton

How their recruitment went - fantastic, when they sold allot of their star players including Luke Shaw, dejan lovren and Adam lallana. But the replacements have been superb. Graziano pelle we an unknown when he came in but has stormed the premier league with lots of goals and being one of the best strikers in the league. Dusan tadic is similar as he was unknown but has been great with a few goals and a lot of assists. Sadio mane struggled when he first joined but he has started to pick up the form many expected. Shane long has done okay so far but we will see better from him as he gets more settled. Ryan Bertrand was brought in from Chelsea on loan and has been superb and been a great signing to replace Shaw at left back, also Tony alderwield has impressed at centre back as they are defensively sound.

How performances have gone - superb, the team have surprised everybody with their amount of consistency. They beat Sunderland 8-0 this season and have beaten arsenal and are still near the top of the table which in my opinion is a massive shock for this team.

How manager has done - Ronald koeman has really settled in to the English game so quickly and has even improved Southampton. His team play exciting attacking football but also are really strong defensively giving their team every chance of winning.

Star player - graziano pelle, as I said at the top pelle was an unknown but he really has surprised with the high levels of quality he really has. The high amount of goals he has and target man ability has shown through. He also has made his international debut for Italy and scored his first international goal.

What they need to improve - they maybe need a few more numbers to the squad because the style they are playing really
Suits them and is working.
