Gotham gets a season 2

Big news today is that Fox have announced that the Batman tv show gotham is in fact going to get a second season.

Now since this is the first time I have spoke about gotham on my blog I guess I better go through the premise. The premise so far sees detective Jim Gordon and his partner Harvey bullock on the case to solve out team murder of the Wayne's. While Bruce Wayne is a young kid dealing with his parents death.

Now I must say I have seen the first 10 episodes of gotham, but we have not had it come back in the UK yet unlike the US. I have been underwhelmed by gotham so far and I really think there is much improvement that is going to be needed. I think there is just too many characters and stories being focused on, if it was up to me I would have Gordon's story, penguin story and the mobs story but apart from that leave out all the comic book character arcs that now they can save for future seasons. If it can focus up on its key stories then I really think there is potential for the show I just guess I wish it was the quality of the flash and arrow but it just isn't yet.

Now I am going to make some predictions from what I want to see in season 2 there may be slight spoilers for gotham so far but I will try my best. I hope that by the time we get to season 2 that falcone is still the head mafia boss but the penguin has taken over both maroni and fish's roles in his organisation as he becomes the head of the mob in season 2. I hope that Gordon and bullock become the top gcpd detectives and have to stop some actual Batman supervillians that have actually been developed on the show like two face and riddler. I hope they save the identity of the Wayne murder and save it for season 2 to make the reveal a big deal and important for the story.

Overall the next half of the season is key for me because if it improves I will definitely be watching season 2 but if it stays as it is or regresses then I will seriously considering not bothering with season 2.
