The premise of the film sees Bruce banner hiding out in Brazil until the army come after him led by General Ross and emile blomsky to capture the hulk. This means he has to return to the US and reunite with his old love betty Ross to find a cure.
Now of course after hearing all the controversy about Edward Norton's role in this film and future marvel films it does make me a little upset because of how good he was in this film. He truly encapsulates the difference between banner and the hulk really well and it definitely made the hulk a relatable character which is a very hard thing to do.
The supporting cast is also excellent and a real surprise. William hurt plays general Ross and he does a great job as the tough army guy and you really feel like he truly believes that the hulk is his property. Tim Roth plays blomsky and does a real good job as an intense villain and his character is really interesting as the film progresses. Liv Tyler plays betty Ross and her chemistry with Norton is great and her performance is really good and this is a romance that really does work.
The story is okay, I really liked the fact that they showed banner become the hulk in the opening credits, I felt it was a really intelligent way to speed up the film. I also liked banners story and the way it started. However, I thought the overall story was a little weak and peoples reasoning was a little poor.
The script was really good with the dialogue a good mix between Whitty and drama and it made characters seem more interesting then maybe in other comic book films.
The style of the film is great and I thought the look of the hulk was great and the cgi really worked. Also the abomination was great and there fight at the end was filmed really well and the action was really smooth.
Overall I love this film and I feel like it is a great addition to the marvel films that really should be seen.
