Premier league weekend roundup

This weekend saw some surprising results and this is the weekend roundup.

Best scoreline of the weekend - Chelsea, a fantastic result for the blues this weekend beating Swansea 5-0 and really looking like they are sending a message to the rest of the title contenders mainly Manchester city. Diego Costa and Oscar were great and really stole the show against the Welsh team who really didn't help themselves.

Best performance of the weekend - arsenal, nobody saw this result coming. Arsenal beating Manchester city 0-2 away from home and this is the first time I have seen the arsenal team be disciplined and come willing to play on the counter attack and they punished Manchester city.

Best player of the weekend - santi cazorla, I have never seen cazorla play as well as he did against city on Sunday. He is playing in a more disciplined central midfield position and he is technically dominant and also willing to make tackles and blocks which I have never seen before. He scored his penalty really well with allot of calmness. He also delivered the free kick for the second goal and cazorla optimized everything good about arsenals performance against city.

Best manager of the weekend - any normal weekend Alan pardew would have got this award for turning Crystal palaces game around, but there is only one man that can get this award. Arsene Wenger, it's great to see that finally Wenger has started to respect his opposition and set up his team in a way that saw a fantastic performance and easily the best in years.

Major talking points - with Chelsea destroying Swansea and Manchester city losing to arsenal I truly believe that if Chelsea beat man city in the next game then the title may be over as I don't see Chelsea losing an 8 point lead. Southampton deserve a huge amount of credit for their performances this season and I kind of hope they can defy the odds and get in the top four. Hull city look like they are going to be a team in trouble this season and they must get some firepower in the January window or they might really be in danger of falling to the championship.
