The grand Budapest hotel review (2014)

Many people have told me how good the grand Budapest hotel was and I hadn't seen it yet so I decided to watch it and now I know just why people loved it so much.

The story of this film sees the story of a hotel concierge as he is accused of murder and becomes good friends with his bell boy as they try to escape the law.

Now I really cannot believe that more people aren't talking about Ralph Fiennes performance in this film as it is absolutely fantastic. He is funny and sensitive and the chemistry he and zero have is mind blowing and carries the film.

The supporting cast is great too with the kid who plays zero being really good and shining in the performance. I expect to see much more from him in the future. Edward Norton was great in his smaller role as the army commander and his dialogue is pretty funny especially for Norton. Jeff goblem is great in the film as well as willem Dafoe and Adrian Brody in villainous roles that were great.

The story was okay with Fiennes and zeros journey being really interesting but I was not a massive fan of the storytelling aspect and I think the film could have just been a contained story without the storytelling aspect.

The script is fantastic with the dialogue being awesome and providing the situations with hugely funny and deep dialogue that helps make all the characters interesting.

At first I wasn't sure that I was going to like the style but it looks beautiful and the cinematography is breathtaking and the hotel itself looks beautiful.

Overall this is a fantastic film that you should definitely give it a shot and watch it.
