Some big news in the comic book film universe this week with the reports that Jake Gyllenhaal has passed on the role of Rick Flag in the suicide squad and that the next X-Men film will have 3 new versions of younger X-Men.
When Tom hardy left the suicide squad last week it was reported because of his relationship with director David Ayer he was offered the role of Rick Flag but he has turned down the role. In my opinion Gyllenhaal would have done a good job in the role as he is a great actor but now I am worried about this film. It was reported that possibly Tom hardy had problems with the script and the use of his character so possibly this could have been a reason why Gyllenhaal didn't want anything to do with this film. Apparently Rick Flag is going to be the leader of the squad and with the film coming out next year they really need to cast him quickly and after the two actors who have been linked in the role they need a big actor for the role in my opinion.
Also big news in the X-Men universe is that a young storm, Jean grey and Cyclops have been cast. Tye Sheridan is playing young Cyclops, Sophie Turner is young Jean grey and Alexandra shipp is young storm. Now I don't know these actors because I have not seen anything they have been in but I am happy that these characters are going to be in the film. I think this is just the natural progression for the young X-Men to add these key characters to the roster especially as they have to fight the unstoppable Apocalypse. I hope they can get the performances right because I think their characters have been portrayed that well in the films and I hope this will be better.
