The interview review (2014)

This film has obviously been filled with massive controversy and that in my opinion has made me want to see it even more and I must say this film is really funny.

The premise of this film is that James Franco plays a tv presenter and Seth rogen is his producer and they get an interview in north Korea with Kim jong un the leader of north Korea. So the cia try to get them to assassinate Kim jong un.

Now to start with Franco and rogen their chemistry is unbelievable and is possibly one of the best comedy duo out there with everything they have done being good in my opinion. They both play their characters well and the contrast between them carry this film and without them this film would be awful.

The supporting cast is pretty small but a few of them do well. The actress who plays the cia agent does a good job and is funny but for some reason the film forgets about her for some reason. The guy they got to play Kim Jong un was really good and he actually sold that he was the dictator himself and that is what I require for the character. Rogens love interest was a pointless character and didn't help the film at all.

The story was okay with the premise being crazy and the actors playing it up to the degree that was necessary with this crazy premise. But I felt that some things like the romance didn't work and didn't really fit with the film at all.

The script was hilarious with Franco and rogen dominating every scene they were in and making the film hilarious when it had no business being that funny.

The style was perfect for the film because the film knows how crazy it is but it plays it up and the film rolls with the craziness that it knows it is.

Overall I think this is one of the teams best work and I hope that this isn't the end of this groups comedies.
